Description

I have much more I will be offering the next few months including as always some top rarities in choice condition on such labels as Harvest, Marmalade, Neon, Vertigo, B&C/Charisma, Dandelion, Deram, Polydor, Pegasus, Philips, Blue Horizon, Transatlantic, Virgin/Caroline etc. Please be patient and keep watching as it takes time when available to go through various sections of my collection and in some areas I've barely scratched the surface of what I'll be offering. For some of the larger labels such as B&C/Charisma, Harvest, Transatlantic, Vertigo, Virgin/Caroline etc. I am waiting until I have assembled more of a quantity of titles to offer at one time rather than just listing a few here and there along with other stuff.

Welcome Back Rare Vinyl Fans & Fiends Alike. So sorry for the rather long un-intended hiatus from selling since last spring but other demands on my time were required.

HERE you will often FIND offered BETTER CONDITION RECORDS than many other

(visually graded only) sources offer, WHICH ARE FREQUENTLY TOP COPIES & VIRTUALLY new or LIKE-NEW

and unplayed or played very few times, AND/OR THE BEST COPIES POSSIBLE of many choice records.

Purchased: USED. Choice UK 1971 original  & ONLY release of this fantastic, groundbreaking, atmospheric recording that provides evidence that Basil Kirchin has created his own musical language here with this utterly unique personal vision. So the liner notes aptly state (see photo #8), as well as making the observation that rock, jazz and "legitimate"music have come so close together that the boundary lines have blurred (see photo #9). That's why I had difficulty choosing both a musical category and sub-category because experimental is perhaps the best description albeit vague as it is. There are some veteran UK jazz musicians featured here including Evan Parker-saxophone, Daryl Runswick-bass, Frank Ricotti-percussion including marimba & vibes & Derek Bailey-guitar etc. This album features parts 1 & 2 of Worlds Within Worlds and is about 100 times rarer than Basil's followup on Help from 1974 where he continued his musical vision with parts 3 & 4. Stay tuned!

Label/# + Year of release/Date of pressing: Original UK EMI Columbia SCX 6463/1971.

Cover Condition: Choice EX(-) laminated front flip-back with minimal wear & 3 corners slightly creased/impacted, the lower spine one of which is far worse as shown in photos # 11 & #12. It looks like a prior owners pet chewed on it a bit, thus the downgrade to EX(-). If it weren't for that it would be EX+ bordering on NM. The fantastic golden jungle cover art picture that really fits the music is totally immaculate and fully pristine with absolutely no damage, wrinkles or imperfections as can be seen in photo #7. Rear shows no wear and only slight discoloration to the white area.

Inner Sleeve: Original EMI artists sleeve with one side seam split 2 3/4 inches. I've added a sheer poly-bag lined plastic sleeve.

Record Condition: Side 1 looks choice EX- with minimal hairlines/sleeve-wear & a few light scuffs that don't sound & plays the same EX with subtle occasional background noise present after cleaning on a VPI HW-17. Side 2 looks an even better EX+ bordering on NM and also plays EX. Played no more than 3-4 times by me over @ 4 decades. No upgrade likely required or desired, assuming you can even find another copy!

Label Condition: Both=M with no spindle marks.

Matrix #'s: YAX 4215-1U & YAX 4216-1U.

PAYMENT is expected within 1 week unless you're confirmed bidding on other items. Combined shipping is available for multiple purchases up to a 2 week duration counting from the day of the first winning bid and/or confirmed purchase (if Buy it Now) made by any buyer. All orders will be shipped within 1 week of payment with records removed from sleeves (unless SS) to prevent any cover seams from splitting.
Please understand that all orders will be expertly boxed with care and shipped promptly, but I cannot and will not be held responsible for anything lost or damaged in transit. Consequently insurance is strongly recommended for all US winners. Payment is Pay Pal only for all foreign buyers and insurance is unavailable as it is too expensive. Once again, I cannot and will not be held responsible for any item(s) lost or damaged in transit due to careless handling by the USPS or foreign postal services. Any/All buyers outside of the U.S. hereby agree to accept full responsibility for any loss or damage to/for any item sent, and furthermore accept that the seller, myself, will not be held liable or responsible for any refund or further recourse for recovery of the lost or damaged item(s). THANKYOU FOR YOUR UNDERSTANDING & INTEREST AND GOOD LUCK BIDDING!!

INVOICES: It is not my policy to send out invoices unless or until requested. This is because I don't want to rush people to pay in case they're wanting to potentially win another item or items and take full advantage of my combined shipping offer. I can't predict what else someone might want to bid on and I don't necessarily know from one week to the next what I'm going to list for sale from my collection. However if you don't want to wait then feel free to pay for your item(s) won at any time. All information is in my listings for the proper shipping costs depending upon where you are located. If you're not sure then please e-mail me for confirmation and I will gladly send you an invoice. Please do not abuse my grace period for paying within 2 weeks or just let me know if you're having a problem so we can work it out. I'm friendly and understanding and THANK-YOU FOR BEING CONSIDERATE!  However, I reserve the right to either re-list any item or offer it to the runner up bidder if you don't pay for it within the allotted time period and play by the rules. If that happens then I will not allow you to bid in future auctions of mine.

SHIPPING & HANDLING RATES:   Please note that as of today 26th February 2012, I've lowered the price of additional single LPs for media mail for U.S. customers to $1.50 instead of $2.00 for up to 6 albums total, per my attempts to keep it closer to actual costs of mailing. Remember that gate-folds weigh more so I've tried to establish a medium based on that.

1.Continental U.S.A.-1 LP is $8.25 for Priority + $1.00 each additional LP OR $4.00 for Media mail + additional single LPs are $1.50 each up to 6 total. More than 6 may require an adjustment.

2.Alaska, Hawaii & Canada are $8.00 for 1st LP  Airmail and $2.50 for each additional single album up to 5 total.

3.Mexico & South America are $14.00 for 1st LP Airmail and $3.50 for each additional up to 5 total.

4.Europe is $15.50 for 1st LP Airmail and $3.50 for each additional up to 5 total.

5.Japan, Asia, Australia & New Zealand, Korea, Russia and United Kingdom are $15.50 for 1st LP Airmail and $4.00 for each additional up to 5 total.

6.Africa and Middle East are $16.00 for 1st LP Airmail and $5.00 for each additional up to 5 total.

ATTENTION FOR ALL FOREIGN BUYERS: For a few international buyers lately who have purchased 6 or more LPs for combined shipping the above rates I list have been inadequate to cover my shipping costs because more than 4 additional LPs can push the weight to over 4 pounds into a higher shipping cost category. So for now please ask for a shipping quote if you're buying more than 4-5 LPs. Rest assured that as always I will strive to offer all customers the best rates possible to save them money and be as close to the actual shipping costs for their item(s) as possible within reason. Please understand that LPS, their covers (gate-fold or non-gate-fold), boxes and packing materials utilized can vary somewhat in their respective weights so with all of my posted rates I try and set averages that are appropriate to generally cover my costs and be close to yours also. Thanks once again for your understanding in my efforts to serve you all to the best of my ability.

PLEASE NOTE:  Rest assured that I only charge to basically cover my costs and all of my shipping supplies and handling time to pack are factored in & included already with no additional charges added on to pad the actual sales prices. I strive to satisfy and attain your 100% satisfaction as well as retain my 100% feedback rating!

MY PRESERVATION POLICY on many records that I revered was simple and I share it with you now so that you understand why you take virtually no risk buying from me providing the album was bought new and not used originally. When I'd buy a "new" album and it was something I liked a lot and still available (most of my new albums were purchased in the early-mid 1970's!) I'd initially play it between 15-25 times to become familiar with it and then sell it to a friend as a still EX+ well preserved nice copy. (Adding outer & inner plastic sleeves was standard procedure additionally limiting cover wear and/or hairline paper sleeve marks.) Then I'd buy another new copy and in some cases if a particular favorite then yet another, meaning that I only played the 2nd copy (now my 1st) 5-10 times and the 3rd (now my 2nd if I kept 2) once or twice, always initially taping or now in more recent years currently burning to disc 1 copy within the first couple of  plays thus significantly limiting play to this day on most of my lps. I did/do this with many single copy rarities as well so most play was/is on tapes or cd-rs. I bought a lot of CDs of favorite things also which further helped preserve my vinyl and limit play of much of it. Sometimes I also acquired rare British and European vinyl which I never saw imported in stores and sold new in the United States or Canada from contacts I established through mail correspondence during the 1970's. I developed contacts in England, France, Germany, Holland & Norway. Be aware that the MAJORITY of albums or occasionally 45's that I list ARE FREQUENTLY my ONLY COPIES so bid accordingly as you'll not likely see most of them listed by me again.

SO, MOST OF MY ALBUMS ORIGINALLY BOUGHT NEW, STILL ACCURATELY APPEAR VIRTUALLY NEW AND UNPLAYED, AND MOST WERE HONESTLY PLAYED NO MORE THAN 5-10 TIMES AND OFTEN ONLY TWICE OR THRICE AND ARE STILL NEAR MINT!! WHY TAKE THE RISK & HASSLE WITH RETURNS EVEN IF THEY"RE ACCEPTED. SHOP HERE AND REMOVE ALL DOUBT AND DISAPPOINTMENT FROM YOUR FUTURE E-BAY VINYL TRANSACTIONS NOW!
