Loss in the name of the sixth studio album released by musician, songwriter and producer Steven Wilson under the pseudonym Bass Communion.
The album consists of a title track split in two parts.
Very rare original vinyl edition of this Bass Communion album, which is possibly the best. Mr. Wilson claims that the music here is focusing purely on the texture and inherent qualities of pure sound, and that it achieves a "purity of intent and spirit, as a means to express his innermost feelings at a much deeper level". Whatever the spiritual effect it's certainly packaged in a beautifully embossed thick card sleeve inside a clear plastic wallet. The record is also delicately perfumed and included with it is an album of Victorian photographic Death portraits. The overall effect is like finding something particularly spooky in the bottom of your recently deceased great Aunt's wardrobe. You won't get many chances to own one of these as people will not want to part with it. Not to be missed.
