The Beatles – A Hard Day’s Night – Genuine 1964 UK 1st STEREO pressing– The very earliest 1st issue with chunky typeface labels and yellow & Black Parlophone rim labels, ‘Recording First Published…’ and with ‘Sold in UK’ Catalogue number PCS 3058
Only 3 or 4 plays since new!
On offer is a pristine investment grade stereo copy of ‘A Hard Day’s Night’, however what makes this record so special apart from its exceptional condition is that it is from the very first batch of STEREO records pressed ahead of the 10th July 1964 release date. These stereo records were not stocked by the record retailers but had to be pre-ordered.
The audio on this Stereo copy differs significantly from its mono counterpart in many ways. The echo and double tracking for example of Paul’s voice during ‘Things We Said Today’ is very distinctive and whilst this stereo mix has been re-issued and re-mastered, this original stereo version is by far the best in my opinion.
This audiophile copy retains all the detail and depth of the original Abbey Road master tapes. The run-in to ‘A Hard Days Night ‘ is silent before exploding into the familiar opening chords. ‘I Should Have Known Better’, ‘If I Fell’ and ‘Things We Said Today’ sound breathtaking on this unworn UK 1st pressing. Certainly one of the finest recorded Beatles albums which is now beginning to be revered as a masterpiece and the first album where artist and composer wrote and performed all the songs.
A true rarity with great investment potential.

Visual: EXC+/nr MINT
The disc has all of its original sheen and can only have been played a few times since new. Side 1 is virtually blemish free with only the faintest of marks visible on close inspection. Side 2 has no marks whatsoever except the faintest whispy sleeve removal marks which are only visible on close inspection under a strong halogen desklight.
Audio: nr MINT
An outstanding audiophile copy and almost impossible to find in this condition. A HDN is in the main quite an acoustic album and therefore susceptible to wear. This copy I am pleased to report has no groovewear whatsoever and no distracting surface noise so prevalent on most copies. The run-in to ‘A Hard Days Night ‘ is silent. ‘I Should Have Known Better’, ‘If I Fell’ and ‘Things We Said Today’ sound breathtaking on this unworn stereo copy. A beautiful and stunning sounding copy which will not disappoint. Needless to say the record does not jump or stick.

Totally unworn and in remarkable condition with only the very faintest evidence that the record has been played. The labels carry the earliest and rarest chunky typeface. There is no writing to either label.
Cover
EXCELLENT+
An original 1964 Garrod & Lofthouse patents pending stereo cover in. This cover positively dates to 1964 and bears the larger size stereo logo. All flipbacks are fully covered in laminate unlike later copies. The laminate to the front panel is unworn and retains its original high gloss. There is a slight laminate crease on the top edge but other than that it is in exceptional condition. The rear panel is free from any writing but does show signs of ageing and some discolouration towards the opening edge.
