Description
Up for auction here is the 1963 Beatles Christmas fan club flexidisc. Released only to Fanclub members over the festive season in 1963, the flexi perfectly captures the initial rush of Beatlemania. This is easily the rarest of the Beatles Christmas flexis: quantity pressed is generally quoted at around 20,000; minuscule compared with the millions of most Beatles 45s.
Condition: flexi is very clean indeed, with only a pin-hole-sized manufacturing flaw in the vinyl -which plays through- preventing it from being EX. Labels are perfect mint. Cover is almost *too* perfect, which makes me think it may be a reproduction, but I have no way of telling. Perhaps you do? If so, let me know.

On 16-Oct-06 at 13:31:26 BST, seller added the following information:Update: A few people have emailed me to find out more about the cover & whether it's the real thing or not. I still can't be sure one way or the other, but I'm leaning towards the opinion that it's a repro. I was sent a link to "Beatles DNA" which -on their page regarding fakes- tells me:
FAN CLUB FLEXI-DISC for 1963: Repro yellow gatefold sleeve - lighter in colour, new staples. Disc housed inside is original - has discolouration on one half of the label.
As can be seen from the photo, the flexi's labels are not discoloured, but the staples do look new. Of course, it may have been an extremely well looked after example, but I can't be sure. Therefore: buyer beware!
