READ THIS! These records are NOT sold for perfect sound quality. They’re sold for their scarcity and VISUAL grading. They’ve been in storage for a decade, and they WILL play with surface noise that can be addressed with D4 or a VPI cleaning.  I can’t test-play at the minute. Please don’t bid if this is a problem for you.

Beatles 1967 LP Sgt. Pepper MONO First Pressing Jacksonville, EX!

**NOTE: This is the copy that is featured in my new book on flash drive, “Demystifying the Beatles.”

This copy has all of the first pressing comperes:

**Both cover and record label lists second track as “A Little Help From My Friends.”

**There is no vertical text printed along the spine of the back cover.

**Contains the alternate MONO mix that The Beatles preferred over the stereo mix.

Vinyl--- EX/EX.  Vinyl looks stunning glossy, blinding smooth grooves with just a couple imperfections per side.

Plates--- F15/F13.  Machine-stamped letter “O” in the dead wax on both sides makes this copy pressed in Jacksonville.

Cover--- EX.  This is the best MONO cover I have ever seen.  Looks brand new with the following exceptions:

** There is a drill hole in the upper right corner that goes through the gatefold and back.

**Previous owner wrote a date on the back cover.  See photo.

**Bottom seams have very light shelfwear.

**Bottom left corner has a small push-in.

Otherwise, this cover is 99.5% free of ringwear and dirtwear!  Looks like the shrinkwrap hasn’t been off it for very long!

Gatefold--- NM.  Apart from the drill hole, the gatefold is very nearly without fault.  There’s a manufacturer’s defect of a small air pocket over Paul’s eye.

Labels--- NM/NM.  Both labels look 1967-brand new.  NO SPINDLE MARKS.

Insert--- EX.  There’s a very light record outdent.  There’s one lone finger divot next to the Sgt.’s cap.

**Insert is the sturdier 1967 format with no stereo catalogue number at the bottom left, which is the appropriate insert for 1967 MONO copies.

Capitol Inner Sleeve--- EX.  Had there not been some wrinkling from improper insertion at the factory, this inner sleeve would have been NM.  Colors are still bold, hardly any yellowing at all!  Best gradient inner sleeve I’ve ever seen, NO SPLIT SEAMS.

A generic inner sleeve will be provided, so as not to damage your original Capitol inner sleeve en route.

**Having already sold my stellar Los Angeles and Scranton MONO copies, this Jacksonville is the last copy I have in my collection for sale in this fantastic condition, packaging AND vinyl.

**No upgrade ever needed!

As these records have been in storage for many years, they will play back with crackling and tics, however; a good moisturizing and cleaning with either D4 Discwasher or a VPI machine always clears them up.  Thanks!)

(Please note:  Regarding play-testing, my Technics turntable has somehow seized.  The tone arm is stuck in the up position, and I can’t get it to fully return to its cradle.  Is there anyone out there, who can tell me if this is an easy fix?  Thanks!)
