READ THIS! These records are NOT sold for perfect sound quality. They’re sold for their scarcity and VISUAL grading. They’ve been in storage for a decade, and they WILL play with surface noise that can be addressed with D4 or a VPI cleaning. I can’t test-play at the minute. Please don’t bid if this is a problem for you.
Beatles 2-LP 1976 Rock and Roll Music German First Pressing Reversed Mix, MULTIPLE Label Errors, EX/NM!
Audiophiles and collectors of foreign pressings are aware that the German pressings of Rock and Roll Music has great sound quality and had a few quirks to it.
*The mix is reversed from U.S. pressings. That is to say that the elements that appear in the left channel on U.S. pressings appear in the right channel on this pressing, and the elements that appear in the right channel on U.S. pressings appear in the left channel on this pressing.
*Somehow, Germany’s master tapes for the LP contained the original mixes of the tracks from the 1964 British E.P., “Long Tall Sally,” which were mixed in true stereo. Those tracks were:
~Long Tall Sally
~I Call Your Name
~Slow Down
~Matchbox.
~I’m Down also appears for the first time in Germany in true stereo. Prior to this LP’s release, the only earlier appearance of the true stereo version of I’m Down was on a Japanese E.P.
*First pressing labels contained the following errors:
~The track, “Slow Down” is listed as “Slowdown.”
~ “Taxman” is credited to Lennon/McCartney.
~The following song titles have incorrect copyright dates:

Helter Skelter 1969
Taxman 1968
Got to Get You Into my Life 1968
Vinyl--- NM/EX. NM/EX. Sides 1 and 3 look unplayed. Sides 2 and 4 have just a small amount of very light lines, and in concentrated areas of the vinyl. 95% original shine on those sides.
Plates--- A1/B2. A1/B2. Definitely first pressing plates.
Cover--- VG. Cover is structurally solid, but their construction was made from very thin cardboard. Nearly paper thin with gloss coating, the cover mainly suffers from waviness from the decades. Light dirtwear and record outdent. NO SPLIT SEAMS.
Labels--- EX/EX. EX/EX. Some light to moderate spindle marks, otherwise beautiful labels.
Inner Sleeves--- Both VG+. NO SPLIT SEAMS.
Great copy of this tough-to-find LP!
As these records have been in storage for many years, they will play back with crackling and tics, however; a good moisturizing and cleaning with either D4 Discwasher or a VPI machine always clears them up. Thanks!)
