1965 UK 2nd *STEREO* PRESSING LP

This barely played & hard to find STEREO variant is an early 2nd pressing dating from late 1965 and is on the yellow & black Parlophone label: PCS 3058

Both labels bear the seldom seen 'Times/Roman' font and larger stereo indicator most often found on early copies of 'Rubber Soul'.

The other regular indicators of this period are also present: the 'Sold in UK..' text & 'The Gramophone Co. Ltd..' worded rims.

The 'KT' purchase tax code is visible around the centre of the side 1 label.

Vinyl weight: 155g

Housed in a front laminated, tri-flipback 'Garrod & Lofthouse' printed cover with a 'mid-sized' front stereo indicator.

Complete with its 'Use Emitex..' rice-paper lined inner-sleeve.

A superb bright and clean set with just one or two stray spindle trails around the side 2 centre hole but no wear to either.

Visual: EXCELLENT +

Both playing surfaces are perfectly clean and are without any loss of their original deep-gloss shines. Careful inspection in strong daylight shows up nothing more than a few faint inner-sleeve removal marks but no scuffs or even any scratches . Close inspection directly beneath my powerful halogen desk lamp does little more than amplify these minor blemishes but adds no more. Both sides of this high-quality pressing lie 100% flat on the turntable when playing.

Play: NEAR MINT

This copy has been barely played and consequently the sound quality is perfectly clean, clean & totally unworn throughout. My single careful play-check at volume found no traces of any groove/play-wear distortion in either channel, background interference or even any ticks, clicks or pops. This really is a 1st class copy of one of their best sounding stereo discs and will not disappoint.

Cover

EXCELLENT

A strong and clean example with a vibrant & unworn front panel laminate which displays a single 'thumbnail' wrinkle and light bends to the upper two corners but no major faults. There is some bruising to the corners but very little evidence of wear to either the front or rear opening edge. The rear panel is extremely clean, white & unmarked and has no writing or missing paper to any part. All flipbacks are fully intact and all seams & the fully worded spine are unstressed and unsplit.

Inner-sleeve

EXCELLENT

Clean & flat with just a hint of age-toning but no creasing, writing, tears or seams splits.
