Inner Sleeve Condition

As in some of the earliest 1st issues, the record comes in the matt black 1968-1969 die-cut Apple inner sleeve.  The majority came with the much more common white EMI inner sleeve.  The black paper die-cut inner sleeve is in fantastic condition, no tears or writing, hardly even a wrinkle.  The record itself is safely (and appropriately) stored in a new MFSL-type poly-plastic inner sleeve to prevent damage or wear (to the paper sleeve OR the record).  Amazing to find this delicate paper inner sleeve in such condition after all these years.

Cover Condition

Cover in beautiful Ex++ to M- condition, a high grade for this delicate original UK Garrod & Lofthouse International Ltd. cover.  High-gloss lamination on both sides, almost looks “wet”, it’s so shiny.  Standard position for the apple logo.  A classic cover in superb condition.  Heavy creasing is common on the majority of early examples, but this one is a beauty.

Label Condition

Label Format: Apple label with dark green Apple on side 1 and white Apple on side 2. This copy has the rare very first issue printing error which omits ‘Her Majesty’ from the label (The record plays it, of course).

Label Condition: Super clean and very attractive examples that show only very light spindle marks when viewed at an angle to a bright light. No wear or scuffing around the spindle hole area, it’s a pleasure to be able to offer this elusive early first issue record in such beautiful condition. (Please see pictures of labels below!).

Record Condition

M-, a beautiful, 1969 heavyweight UK first issue Apple record with shiny black mirror-like playing surfaces.  The visual condition is superb, and of course I had to give this one a careful play on my VPI/Sumiko Blackbird combo to find out if it plays as good as it looks.  I’m happy to report that this copy plays superbly, a real treat to hear this late ‘60s pressing in such fantastic crystal clear audio quality.  Particularly in the many quiet passages, most notably on the second side (Here Comes the Sun, Because, The End, Her Majesty, etc.) where noisy vinyl would be such an intrusion on the enjoyment of the music.  No worries here!

A fantastic playing example of the rare error-label first issue of an all-time classic…

Always stored properly in a heavy outer plastic protective cover, a beautiful example of a very rare 1st issue of the Beatles’ finest album…

37 years old now…

…and a required album for any Beatles fan, a rare 1969 UK example!

I am now using eBay's "Check Out" service!

Packaging:

You will see from my eBay feedback that I package very securely.  Records are removed from jackets to prevent seam-splits, records and covers are placed inside re-sealable plastic outer protective covers, and "sandwiched" between two pieces of cardboard cut to a size larger than the album cover in order to protect the cover from corner-dings during shipping.

I have not had any problems with damaged records as a result of my own packaging, but I do recommend Insurance on the more expensive items, I cannot be held responsible for what happens to the package after it leaves my possession.

Priority Shipping to the U.S.

I do not charge a "Handling" fee, Priority shipping calculations will be made using the USPS website  (http://postcalc.usps.gov/) based on your Zip code.

Payment for U.S. Buyers:

Money Orders are preferred (no checks).  Paypal is accepted.  I am trying out eBay's "Check Out" service, but I may contact you directly with a more detailed Invoice (eBay’s message system only allows 500 characters, including spaces).  Insurance is always offered as an option.

International Shipping:

I have made many friends and many new record buying contacts around the world through these auctions, it is my pleasure to make these records available to everyone who loves music and who is interested in purchasing quality record Lp's.  I have plenty of experience safely shipping record Lp's internationally.  Shipping options include Airmail Parcel Post (for those who desire Insurance), and Airmail Letter Post (for those who do not want Insurance).

Payment for International Buyers:

For Buyers from outside the U.S., please use Paypal, and please pay in U.S. dollars.

From my previous international shipping experience, I understand that some people prefer to go without Insurance and have the package declared as a “gift”.  That's fine, but at your own risk, I cannot be responsible for what happens to the package after it leaves my possession.

Any winning bidder is welcome to combine multiple items to save on shipping.

Thanks very much for looking, if you have any questions or comments please feel free to contact me, I look forward to hearing from you.

Best regards,

Scott
