THE BEATLES: 'ABBEY ROAD' – THIS IS AN ORIGINAL 1969 UK **1ST ISSUE** STEREO VINYL LP – PCS 7088 - IN FULLY LAMINATED FLIP BACK GARROD AND LOFTHOUSE SLEEVE **PLUS** AN ORIGINAL1969 UK NEWSPAPER ARTICLE DISCUSSING THE ALBUM!
In **close to mint** condition, this is a GENUINE OPPORTUNITY to purchase an ORIGINAL 1969 UK **1st Issue** for The Beatles album ‘Abbey Road’.
The HEAVYWEIGHT Vinyl LP is on the Custom Dark Green APPLE, with ‘Apple Records’ label rim, and this version omits the credit to ‘Her Majesty’ on the side 2 record label. The Vinyl Disc comes in its Original BLACK Inner Bag and is housed in a Fully Laminated (front and reverse) Garrod & Lofthouse sleeve
The Matrixes and stampers are as follows: Side 1 Matrix: YEX 749-2/ Side 2 Matrix:YEX 750-1. Side 1 stampers: ‘3’, ‘MM’/Side 2 stampers:: ‘8’, ‘GGL’.
As an additional bonus, also accompanying this album is an Original 1969 UK One page Evening Standard Newspaper article dated 20 September 1969, discussing the Abbey Road release – this article makes extremely interesting reading!
The Grading of the Record Labels and Vinyl Disc: Both sides of the Record Labels are in as STUNNING **close to mint** condition as you will find! – the labels are GORGEOUS, fresh, bright, unfaded with only the slightest traces of any wispy spider lines, and you have look very hard to see them! Both sides of the Vinyl Disc are also in AWESOME **close to mint** condition. There is hardly any evidence of play to the record labels or the Vinyl Disc – it is evident that the album has obviously been very carefully handled in the past. The Heavyweight Vinyl LP is GLEAMING, retaining that just pressed look – it really looks NEW.
The Playing Quality: The playing quality matches that of the Visual grading – the album plays BEAUTIFULLY with NO skips, NO jumps, NO pops, NO clicks and NO background noise – This is a SENSATIONAL Smooth Play!
The Grading of the Sleeve, the Black Inner Bag and the Newspaper Article: The fully Laminated Garrod & Lofthouse sleeve is graded in CRISP **close to mint** condition. The Sleeve is Fresh and Bright - the colours are unfaded, and the laminate is extremely glossy. The spine is FIRM and the wording ‘Abbey Road’ ‘The Beatles’ and the catalogue number of ‘PCS 7088’ is fully readable. The edges and corners are in great shape with just the tiniest of corner bruising to a couple of the corners – but this is really minimal and we are making a critical assessment. The reverse of the sleeve is again in great shape, with just a little light and minimal record indentation visible, but most would not mention it. The Black inner bag is in respectable condition, showing only a little light creasing, which can only be expected, but certainly no handwriting or tearing. The Newspaper Article is also in respectable condition, it has been folded into four, with some small tears to the outer edges, however, this does not interfere with the Article itself.
In Summary: Accurately described and graded, in our Professional opinion, it would be hard to find a better VINYL example of this ORIGINAL and **COMPLETE** UK 1st Issue Beatles album! – An INVESTMENT QUALITY example!
