THE BEATLES: ‘BEATLES FOR SALE’ – AN ORIGINAL 1964 UK FIRST ISSUE BLACK AND YELLOW PARLOPHONE STEREO VINYL LP – PCS 3062

HARD TO FIND FIRST ISSUE STEREO!! SUPER CLEAN VINYL, COMPLETE

Summary:

‘BEATLES FOR SALE’ was the band’s Fourth UK album, released by EMI/Parlophone on 4 December 1964. The album went straight to Number 1, knocking The Beatles previous album, A Hard Day’s Night off the top slot!

Album Description/Condition

Released by EMI/Parlophone UK on 4 December 1964, this is the HARDER TO FIND FIRST ISSUE STEREO Vinyl LP on the traditional BLACK AND YELLOW PARLOPHONE Label, with ‘The Parlophone Co Ltd’ label rim, ‘Sold in UK…’ , ‘Recording First Published 1964’ and ‘Made in Gt Britain’ printed to both sides of the record labels.

Both sides of the record labels are in RESPECTABLE excellent condition. a CLEAR, CLEAN, BRIGHT set of record labels, with UNFADED yellow and silver printed text, and showing some light centre spider trails.

Both sides of the VERY NICE HEAVYWEIGHT vinyl disc are in excellent plus condition. LOVELY GLOSSY, UNDAMAGED Vinyl, no deep scuffs or scratches. All that is visible are a few light surface hairlines.

Side 1 matrix YEX 142-1 and Side 2: YEX 143-1.
Side 1 stampers: 2/OP and Side 2: 1/MD.
There is an embossed ‘KT’ tax/price code to the centre of the Side 1 record label.

Audio Quality:

The album plays EXCEPTIONALLY WELL – A STRONG, CLEAR Early 60’s STEREO sound – there is NO jumping or distortion.

The album comes in an ORIGINAL Poly lined ‘Use Emitex’ Printed Inner Bag which is in excellent condition, NO handwriting, and just some light creasing, and a 3" split to one of the edges.

And is housed in its ORIGINAL First issue STEREO Laminated Garrod and Lofthouse GATEFOLD sleeve, with cover photography by Robert Freeman taken in Hyde Park, with sleeve notes by Derek Taylor.

The Gatefold Sleeve is in very good plus condition. A CLEAN, FIRM sleeve with VERY GLOSSY Laminate, mild wear to the edges and light corner bruising to three of the corners. The inner gatefold is very nice - shows some light wear to the top edge. The reverse panel shows mild record indentation – nothing serious. The wording on the Spine Edge clearly reads ‘Beatles For Sale’.

Certainly a RESPECTABLE example of this RARE, EARLY UK Beatles STEREO LP.
