Description
The Beatles "Christmas Album", Apple Records SBC 100, issued 1970 to The Beatles Fan Club members. Compiles the Beatles Christmas messages to their fans from 1963 to 1969. Matrix / runouts as follows:
SBC-1-100A Bell Sound st ---<|
SBC-2-100B Bell Sound st ---<|
"Bell Sound" is stamped in italics. Everything else is etched. The weird symbol at the end of each runout is the mark of the Winchester, Virginia Capitol Records pressing plant. The cover is a tip-on / pasteboard style which is cardboard colored on the inside, not white like most modern album covers.
I've always been very confused by how to identify the different pressings of this record. Hopefully the matrix info above is helpful. If you have any other questions about the pressing, please ask before purchasing. I am unable to accept returns due to the pressing variation being different than what you thought.
The record is VG+, fully glossy with just some faint marks. The cover generally presents as VG+ with just light corner /edge wear, but on close inspection there is a tight 3" seam split at top-middle, so I must downgrade to VG. The front and back of the cover are very nice with little-if-any rub wear. Please see all pics for best visual description of the condition.
I have been dealing in records for 25+ years. All records are sent in new Bags Unlimited brand mailers, properly packed with the vinyl outside the cover to avoid seam splits in transit.
