THE BEATLES - CLEAR ACETATE RECORD - VANCOUVER, BC Press Conf. 1964This is a clear acetate record of the Beatles being interviewed at a press conference in Vancouver on August 22, 1964. It was issued by the Vancouver record store KELLYS. It is held by two rivets (detached) onto a sheet which bears a photograph of the Beatles being interviewed, and some advertising copy for the record store.
It is titled: VANCOUVER'S OFFICIAL BEATLE PRESS CONFERENCE
Other than the two rivets being detached (possibly someone removed the record from the backing to play it, though that isn't necessary) it is in nearly fine condition. There is a dent in the acetate in the clear center area, but the playing surface looks ok. I did play the first bit of it and it sounds good; it is a recording of the actual interview.
The dimensions are about 7.5 inches square. It plays at 33 1/3 rpm.
Very early, fragile, ephemeral, and attractive. This item shows up occasionally in Vancouver, we are told, but it is by no means common.
