Description
Beatles STEREO UK Rubber Soul, export pressing. These covers were apparently made for the export market, the USA in particular . PCS 3057- YEX 178-3 and YEX 179-3. Mother and stamper side one 2/GP. Side two 2/GA. I'm including pictures of two recent sales of this record. Generally $1200-$1250. USD. You can also view the item number for the one recently sold on e bay. Similar condition. Condition of cover. Look closely at pictures of cover ,record and labels. The front of cover has a laminate lift going through Paul ,and again at bottom on John's jacket. Neither of these are more than laminate creases, they do NOT go through the cover . In fact there is no impression on back cover . The opening edge of cover where record goes in,looks perfect. No shredding at all. There are NO seam splits on cover at all, clearly readable " Rubber Soul " on spine. The back cover has yellowing, especially on laminated flip back . Review pictures. The back cover, has bumps on both corners and leading edge of where record goes in on the bottom. Cover is totally intact. I would grade it VG+ The record,is really nice and plays through flawlessly . The separation on the tracks is panned hard right. And hard left. Vocals on right. Instruments on left. ( On my system ) There are of course hairlines and two scuffs . Visually grade VG + Labels are EX ,except for the fact that someone wrote BAD on each side of the yellow Parlophone logo. You can clearly see the KT tax code. There is next to no burnout on the spindle holes. Very clean labels and spindle holes. I didn't put in picture of inner sleeve, but it is immaculate . White with the number and made in the U.K. Etc . On inner sleeve. EX condition, no writing etc. I have been sitting on this record, and following this Rubber Soul export copy for a while. $1200. seems to be the sweet spot. Look at the pictures of the two that have recently sold. It will give you an idea of condition of both records and covers . Shipping in USA $6.00 that will include insurance . Rest of world $14.00 . Will NOT sell nor ship to Russia !
On Feb-27-17 at 17:08:46 PST, seller added the following information:How could I forget this ? I've played the record. Dead quiet between tracks,no pops, clicks or anything . Perfect 10/10.
Even going into and playing Michelle ( God knows, what they were thinking in the sequencing,of tracks ) As everyone knows, the inside tracks are the worst for fidelity. This is one of the few I've heard, where Michelle, actually sounds great . I'll ship record, in poly lined inner sleeve, and put original cover as well as record in poly lined sleeve outside of the cover, when shipping. They're are no seam splits, and I want to keep it that way. Lastly. Grading albums is difficult. What I call VG+ ,someone in the U.K. would call EX, in many ( not all ) cases . VG+ is exactly what it is,in reality. To grade EX would imply, cover and record, have next to no wear, to grade NM would have to be unplayed. This album and cover are very similar overall, to the ones selling for $1200. actually, this record, is possibly better condition . It has marks ( The camera AWAYS lies ,on pictures of vinyl ) ,still this is a nice tecord, as you can tell quite a bit, by looking around spindle hole, and the fact that there is no wear at all on the KT tax code . Please feel free to ask any questions . On Feb-27-17 at 22:29:23 PST, seller added the following information:Just found something out. This cover with the BLACK " stereo" is really rare. Rarer than the silver.
Why you ask. Apparently when they did the first run of the covers, they printed " stereo " in black. Immediately they stopped the printing of the black stereo on front cover, because no one could see it. There are very few with the black stereo covers . Pulled immediately . Hence Garrod and Lofthouse went with the silver, so the word stereo could be seen. Admittedly, I see their point. Very rare cover, as is the silver, but the silver is not as rare as the black. Had I not have showed a close up of Paul, most would have missed it .price rating
