This superb early UK mono 1st pressing dates from initial December 1964 release on the yellow & black Parlophone label: PMC 1240.

Both labels includes the 'Sold in UK...' text with 'The Parlophone Co. Ltd.' rims

The 'KT' purchase tax code is present in the centre of the side 1 label.

Matrices: XEX 503-3N & XEX 504-3N

Stamper codes: 1/G & 3/RHH (earliest possible for side 1)

Vinyl weight: 152g

Housed in an outer laminated, inner-flipover gatefold mono cover.

Complete with original 'Use EMITEX...' rice-paper lined inner-sleeve.

CONDITION

Labels: MINT -

A truly beautiful set with NO spindle trails on the side 1 label and just two or three on side 2.

Visual: MINT -

Incredible factory-fresh, deep-gloss playing surfaces which are unmarked and 'as new' in strong daylight. Closer examination directly beneath halogen light reveals only a few barely visible wispy paper hairlines from the inner.sleeve, but this is without the cleanest and earliest copy I've handled.

Audio: MINT -

Played just once or twice on quality equipment, all tracks play perfectly with no trace of any audible faults or wear. You will not find a better looking or sounding copy of this album.

Cover: EXCELLENT +

Such a tough one to find in anything approaching this shape but this example has been carefully stored in clean, non-smoking condition s these past 57 years. The delicate front leaf is clean, glossy & flat with just a hint of storage but no 'thumbnail' wrinkles or creasing. the exposed edges are sharp and unworn too. Both panels inside are clean & black where they should be and are free from any writing. The rear panel is as clean & glossy as the front with no damage to the delicate pinched ends of the spine. Clean & flat with just a hint of age-toning to the upper edges. All seams and the spine are fully intact & undamaged.

Inner-sleeve: EXCELLENT

Clean & crisp with just a few gently storage wrinkles only.
