THE BEATLES - 'BEATLES FOR SALE'
UK 1965 1st PRESS EP
This difficult to find 4-track EP is a 1965 UK 1st pressing on the yellow & black Parlophone label: GEP 8931
Both labels bear the 'Sold in UK..' text with 'The Parlophone Co. Ltd..' worded rims.
The 'KT' purchase tax code is visible in the centre of the side 1 label.
Housed in a front laminated, rounded bi-flipback 'Garrod' printed picture cover.
Matrix numbers: 7TCE 860-1N & 7TCE 861-1N
Stamper codes: 1/A & 1/R
CONDITION
Labels: MINT
Perfect - a completely unblemished pair with no spindle marks or wear to either centre hole.
Visual: EXCELLENT
Both playing surfaces are clean & bright with just a handful of light hairlines in strong daylight but no significant marks or wear. Close examination directly beneath halogen light reveals a few stylus hairlines but again, nothing major.
Play: EXCELLENT
A very clean & warm sounding EP and my careful play-check at volume found no evidence of any groove/play wear to any track. In fact, aside from a touch of light background between tracks, there is little else to fault overall.
Cover
EXCELLENT
A bright & clean example which apart from a touch of light handling & storagewear displays no significant wear or blemishes anywhere.
