Description

In this auction is a RARE ONE, for sure:

·       “WONDERWALL MUSIC” by George Harrison

·       This is Apple Records ST - 2250.

·       This was George Harrison’s first solo LP after the Beatles. It was originally issued in 1968.

·       The LP in this auction is the VERY RARE SECOND PRESSING with the Capitol Logo in the perimeter printing on the sliced Apple label.

·       This version was issued in 1971.

·       According to the Price Guide for the Beatles American Records (page 184):

Only a small percentage of the labels

for this album  have the Capitol logo.”

·       In fact, a couple of long-time Beatles collectors I know told me that they didn’t even believe that this label variation of “Wonderwall” truly existed (until they saw this copy!), because they had never run across one in their years of collecting Beatles LPs. Ask around! It’s really that rare!!)

·       I found this copy at a big flea market in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida back in the late 1990s.

·       The COVER is in VERY STRONG VG+ CONDITION. It’s really a very clean cover with NO writing, NO seam splits, and NO tears. All seams and spine are nice and strong with NO flaking or splitting.  There is just very light wear on the corners and tiny pushes on the corners at the top and bottom of the spine. (This LP was issued with the rear cover slick upside down. I inverted it to take the image of the rear cover.)

·       The VINYL is in GOOD to GOOD MINUS CONDITION (a low grade), with numerous hairlines and scuffs, some of them very “feelable”. The B-side is slightly better than the A-side, but there are “feelable” scratches on both sides that will cause audio distortion and maybe skips if played. (I wish it were in better condition, but, as I said, it’s the ONLY ONE I’ve ever seen in more than 40 years of collecting.)

·       The 10-inch x 10-inch PHOTO/CREDITS INSERT is also included, and it is in NICE VG+ CONDITION.

This label variation/pressing of “Wonderwall” has definitely become a really tough George Harrison Apple LP to find regardless of condition, for sure!
