• “SHANKAR FAMILY ॐ FRIENDS” LP by Ravi Shankar

• This LP is Dark Horse Records SP-22002.

• This LP was released in September, 1974.

• It is an early Dark Horse Records issue, because the rear cover has printing indicating that the LP is “Distributed by A&M Records, Inc.” before Dark Horse Records ceased its affiliation with A&M to go to Warner Bros.

• It was produced by George Harrison

• George Harrison appears seated on the cover to the left, and he is pictured on the rear cover with Ravi Shankar.

• This LP was issued with a VERY ATTRACTIVE 4-PAGE FOLDED COLOR INSERT that tells the stories that are in the songs on each side and lists the credits and the musicians who played on this LP. It is in NEAR MINT MINUS CONDITION with light signs of handling.

• Some of the non-Indian musicians who play on this LP and are listed in the insert are: Hari Georgeson (a pseudonym George Harrison sometimes used when performing on other’s LPs) on autoharp, acoustic guitar and electric guitar; Klaus Voorman on bass; Tom Scott on boehm flute, clapper and saxophone; Nicky Hopkins on piano; Billy Preston on organ; Jim Kelter on drums; and Billy Shears (a pseudonym at times used by Ringo Starr) also on drums.

• The COVER IS IN STRONG VG to WEAK VG+ CONDITION. There is light to moderate overall wear that includes: Light wear at the top center and bottom center areas of the front and rear covers (a bit more on the front cover than the rear cover); Light to Moderate wear on the corners, seams and spine.

• The VINYL is in VG+ CONDITION. There are several very light surface hairlines/scuffs present, but nothing “feelable”.

• This LP also has its ORIGINAL DARK HORSE PAPER INNER SLEEVE that has NO SPLITS.
