Description
I am beginning to put up for auction some duplicate Beatles’ Capitol Record Club LPs from my collection , so please check my other current auctions and upcoming auctions for more Beatles’ Capitol Record Club LPs.
In this auction:
· “HELP! Original Motion Picture Soundtrack” by The Beatles
· This LP was issued by Capitol Records.
· It has a GATEFOLD COVER.
· But this pressing is SPECIAL! This is the RARE CAPITOL RECORD CLUB PRESSING of this title.
· This CAPITOL RECORD CLUB PRESSING has its own special catalog number an “8” preceding the original LP catalog number. This LP’s catalog number is SMAS – 8 – 2386.
· This Capitol Record Club Pressing has the green label.
· It was released in 1969.
· The Beatles’ CAPITOL RECORD CLUB PRESSINGS have become VERY SOUGHT AFTER for their RARITY due to the very limited quantities pressed. You had to be a member of the record club to originally buy and have this LP shipped to you!! You could not walk into a record store and purchase it off the rack.
· And this Record Club vinyl also comes with its CUSTOM RECORD CLUB COVER!! According to Perry Cox, “most (record club) copies were issued with standard Capitol covers.” “Some records came with a custom record club cover.” The COVER in this auction is the CUSTOM RECORD CLUB COVER with “82386” printed on the spine.
· Many copies of the “HELP!”Record Club LP in particular were issued in the standard “HELP!” Capitol LP covers. But the one in this auction IS numbered with the Record Club LP catalog number.
· The GATEFOLD COVER is graded VERY STRONG VG CONDITION. There is moderate overall wear and the following: some moderate wear/light rounding on the corners, and a small corner push at the bottom of the spine and on the lower left corner of the rear cover. This sounds like a lot of flaws, but the cover still looks nice and presents well. (Just check the Images.)
· The VINYL is NICE VG+ CONDITION. There are a few very light surface hairlines/scuffs and lots of gloss.
