'HELP' 1965 MONO PMC 1255
In ***STUNNING*** ***NEAR MINT*** condition, this is an ORIGINAL and COMPLETE UK ***Early Pressing*** for the Beatles Help ***MONO*** Vinyl LP, which was issued in 1965.
This MONO Vinyl LP is on the traditional Yellow and Black Parlophone label, with 'The Gramophone Co Ltd' rim text, and with 'Sold in UK' label text. The Vinyl Disc comes in the Original and SUPERB 1st Issue Laminated Garrod and Lofthouse Three Flip back Picture sleeve.
SLEEVE
The Laminated Garrod and Lofthouse flipback sleeve is in BEAUTIFUL condition!! The front laminate is lovely and white, with virtually no creasing. The spine is in PERFECT condition, with the words 'Help - The Beatles' CRYSTAL CLEAR. On the reverse, the 3 flipbacks are SNOW WHITE, and the matt white areas have VERY LITTLE discolouration. There is NO handwriting, and there are NO tears. Without hesitation, I can grade the sleeve as ***NEAR MINT***.
INNER
This is the ORIGINAL issue POLYTHENE lined inner, with the 'Important > Take Good Care of Your Microgroove Records' and with 'Patents applied for' and 'Made in Great Britain' text It is made of the Early Issue thick paper. There are NO tears, and NO handwriting, and just normal age yellowing. I would grade this as ***EXCELLENT/NEAR MINT***.
LABELS
The Yellow and Black Parlophone labels are graded ***EXCELLENT/NEAR MINT***. They have very minimal centre hole scuffing and hardly any spindle wear.
VINYL
MATRIX NUMBERS and STAMPER CODES
Side 1
Matrix XEX 549 - 3 Stampers '7' at 5 o'clock and 'GR7' at 2 o'clock.
Side 2
Matrix XEX 550 - 2 Stampers '7' at 5 o'clock and 'CD1' at 2 o'clock.
The vinyl is the fairly heavy type. There are NO real flaws, just the merest hint of a couple of paper scuffs when viewed in strong sunlight. Visually, I would grade the vinyl as ***CLOSE TO MINT***.
AUDIO
The sound quality is ***STUNNING*** - Loud crystal clear Mono Sound!!!
Side 1
The intro and 'out - tro' and all of the 'silent' bands between tracks are UNBELIEVABLY quiet!! The tracks themselves have a brilliant vibrant sound. Without any hesitation, this side grades as ***CLOSE TO MINT***.
Side 2
Again, the 'silent band and the intro and 'out-tro. are extremely quiet. The silent bits on 'Act Naturally' are TRULY SILENT! A bit of very soft background sound can be heard here and there on 'I've just Seen a Face', and some background sound is noticeable on 'Yesterday'. Bearing this in mind, I would grade this side as ***EXCELLENT+***.
I am privileged in having VERY SENSITIVE Hi-Fi equipment, which shows up any slight flaw, therefore I am able to grade records very accurately.
