Description

Beatles – ‘Help!’ UK Vinyl LP 1965 first UK mono pressing (PMC1255)

Year of original release: 1965

Country of origin this edition: UK

Matrix / Runout (Side A): XEX 549 – 2 (Stamped)

Matrix / Runout (Side B): XEX 550 - 2 (Stamped)

Gradings: I grade my records and sleeves using the Record Collectors Grading System but please mouse over the images in the uploaded photos to help establish your own idea of the item condition.

Vinyl: (Aural): Excellent: Absolutely superb, clear, audio throughout, with virtually no trace of background noise. For anyone of a certain age, just closing your eyes while listening to the soft mono sound of songs such as ‘I Need You’ and ‘Ticket To Ride’ will immediately transport you straight back on a wave of nostalgia to the swinging sixties… truly wonderful…

Vinyl: (Visual): Very Good: The vinyl still retains a nice sheen, but understandably for a record now pushing 52 years old, there are a few hairlines and paper scuffs but absolutely nothing nasty. The record sits flat on the turntable and it is difficult to detect any movement in the tone arm.

Labels: Excellent: Both labels are in really good condition with some light spindle marks, but again this should be expected with a record of this age.

Sleeve: Very Good: The laminated front sleeve has some ring marks and some creasing around the edges. There is some browning / foxing to the rear sleeve and creases on the flaps and over the spine (please see photos). The spine itself is completely intact and all text clearly readable.

Inner sleeve: Very Good: The original “Use Emitex” die-cut inner sleeve has a 30mm split along one edge and age discolouration.

Records will be dispatched, well packed in custom mailers, within three working days of receiving payment.

Due to being stung by non-delivery claims in the past I now ship all LPs via Royal Mail 2nd class signed for as standard, although I will ship up to four LPs for the same cost as one. If purchasing more than one record, please contact me for a revised invoice before making payment.

Collection in person always welcome for local bidders, in which case payment will be by cash on collection.

Customer satisfaction is important to me so please don’t hesitate to get in touch if there is a problem with your order. I will try to resolve it for you as soon as possible.

RECORD COLLECTOR GRADING SYSTEM:

Mint: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition.

Excellent: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening of sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and / or creasing.

Very Good: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

Good: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration etc...

Fair: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise: it may even jump. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.
