Description
In this auction:
· “WEDDING ALBUM” by John Ono Lennon & Yoko Ono Lennon
· This is Apple Records SAPCOR 11.
· It is a U.K. Pressing/Issue.
· This LP/box set was issued October 20, 1969.
· I refer to this as a “box set” because, while it contains one vinyl record, it came in a box with numerous inserts as additional contents. These included:
1) A copy of the Gibraltar Marriage License pasted inside the box lid. (Near Mint)
2) 12” x 12” book entitled “The Press” that contains copies of newspaper clippings about the wedding & “Bed-In for Peace” (Near Mint Minus with very light signs of handling)
3) 1.5” x 6” strip of black & white photos of John & Yoko (Near Mint)
4) 3.5” x 5” postcard of John & Yoko during their “Bed-In for Peace” (Near Mint)
5) 12” x 36” two-sided poster featuring drawings by John Lennon on one side & Yoko Ono on the other side (VG+ with some moderate wear and spotting; No tears)
6) 11.5” x 11.5” photo of a slice of wedding cake on posterboard (VG+ with light signs of handling/wear and light waves)
7) A thick white vinyl bag with “Bagism” printed on one side to hold the wedding cake photo (Near Mint Minus)
8) 24” x 36” two sided folded poster labeled “The Wedding”. Printed on heavy stock paper. One side has photos of the wedding and the other side has photos of honeymoon activities and the “Bed-In for Peace”. (Near Mint Minus with light signs of handling; No tears)
9) The vinyl Apple record (Near Mint)
10) The laminated gatefold cover (made by Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd) for the vinyl Apple record. (Near Mint Minus with some lines in the lamination that tends to occur over time with these U.K. covers)
· The U.K. WEDDING ALBUM BOX SET IN THIS AUCTION IS COMPLETE!!! EVERY ITEM LISTED ABOVE IS PRESENT!!! NOTHING IS MISSING!!!
· The BOX is probably in VG MINUS to VG CONDITION; however, I prefer to let the images speak for the condition of the box along with the description below:
A)The BOX TOP/LID shows moderate overall wear mostly on the edges. It has a semi-glossy or glossy finish. It has a name written in script at the top left corner and some creasing on the left side. There is an old price sticker on the top right corner. The lid is a bit concave, meaning that it curves inward some. (Often jigsaw puzzle boxes do this.) There is some light to moderate wear on the corners and sides of the lid. The lid has NO split corners.
B)The BOX BASE/BOTTOM has no wear on the sides (because the sides were sheltered by the lid when the box was closed). Most of the aging and usage wear is on the bottom of the box, of course. (Please refer to the image of the bottom of the box.) The bottom of the box has a flat finish, not glossy like the lid. The bottom of the box has NO split corners.)
· It is well-known that, while the musical content of the vinyl tends to be “lacking”, the historical significance of the “WEDDING ALBUM” box set is undisputable. It is a portrayal of the love between John and Yoko and, especially, of John’s desire and goal to try to bring about a world of peace with no more war.
It’s a GREAT JOHN LENNON ITEM on VINYL now almost 50 years old!!! And THIS BOX SET IS COMPLETE!!!
Thanks to the Price Guide for the Beatles American Records by Perry Cox and Frank Daniels for some information about this record, primarily the box contents which were the same in both U.S. and U.K. issues.

This grading scale is Good+ (G+), Very Good Minus (VG-), Very Good (VG), Very Good+ (VG+), Near Mint Minus or Very Good++ (NM- or VG++), Near Mint (NM), Mint Minus (M-), and Mint (M or MT) to VISUALLY grade this item, so please know the descriptions of these grades before bidding.
