Description
The time has come for me to part with my 50 year old Beatles collection. This collection consists of LP's, 45's, picture sleeves, EP's, 12" singles, picture discs, sealed LP's, test pressings, acetates, promos, box sets, and CD's from the US and the UK. The collection also includes vinyl and CD's from John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, Ringo Starr, and Apple artists. There are numerous rarities in this collection. The vast majority of the vinyl is in NM- to NM condition; I tried not to acquire anything with a grade below that, or attempted to upgrade, although a few of the extremely hard to find items I was unable to upgrade and will have a grade below that. If you are a Beatles collector, be sure to bookmark me as the vinyl I'll be listing will surely be of interest. Here we go; a splendid time is guaranteed for all.
John Lennon-Self-titled UK eight LP limited edition boxed set, released by Apple in 1981. Contains all eight (actually nine as "Some Time In New York City" is a double) of his Apple LP's plus a 20 page book from the Liverpool Echo. All LP's, inner sleeves, covers and inserts are in NM condition with the following exceptions:
there is one scratch on "Cold Turkey" on LP 2 of "Some Time In New York City"; this is the only flaw I see on any of the vinyl
there is a partial tear to one side of the inner sleeve of "Mind Games"
there is some foxing on the inner sleeve of "Shaved Fish"
That's it for the contents. Almost all of the LP's contain their original custom inner sleeves (except for "Plastic Ono Band" and "Imagine"). There is no calendar with "Live Peace", no postcard, although there is the poster, with "Imagine", and no inserts with "Some Time In New York City". "Walls & Bridges" does have the gimmick cover and booklet.
The box is in weak VG condition, showing some age wear, especially along the edges of both the top and bottom lids. Top lid has two broken corners and there is a stain on the bottom lid. The booklet is in great shape. Very rare Lennon set, in overall great shape.
