READ THIS! These records are NOT sold for perfect sound quality. They’re sold for their scarcity and VISUAL grading. They’ve been in storage for a decade, and they WILL play with surface noise that can be addressed with D4 or a VPI cleaning.  I can’t test-play at the minute. Please don’t bid if this is a problem for you.

Beatles LP 1964 A Hard Day’s Night White Label PROMO, Respectable VG!

If your idea of VG is moderately to heavily scratched with a few feelable scratches, then this copy is probably your VG+.  Read below for MY VG.

Vinyl--- VG/VG.  That grade stands for “Very Good.”  Both sides have a great deal of original shine, but they also both have a fair share of very light scratches.  The most severe of the lot can be classified as a light scuff.  None of the scratches are feelable with the fingertip.  There is however, one dot on Side 1 of the orchestral version of “I Should Have Known Better” that is feelable, and it might cause a pop.  But other than that, the vinyl shines a nice, respectable 80 to 85% brand new.

Plates--- 1F/1H. 

Cover--- VG+.  Cover is structurally solid, with minor wear throughout.  Front cover is still bright red.  Minor dirtwear, minor whitewear.  Back cover is still mostly white.  There is some yellowing down the mouth.  Below the “All songs written by Lennon and McCartney” disclaimer is the publishing info, which takes four lines.  That’s the 1964 original cover, as opposed to the later 1960’s paragraph, which has been trimmed to just two lines.

All seams are muscular-strong, but they all have light to moderate shelfwear.  NO SPLIT SEAMS.

Labels--- VG+/VG+.  Both labels are nice and white, with minimal dirtwear!  Beautiful “Not For Sale” disclaimer is present.  Both labels have spindle marks.

Inner Sleeve--- EX.  Generic white inner sleeve with no die-cut hole for the labels to show is present.  Lightly yellowed, but NO SPLIT SEAMS.

A generic inner sleeve will be provided, so as not to damage your original inner sleeve en route.

RIAA: 8.  It’s rare enough to find ANY cover for “A Hard Day’s Night” with an RIAA.  Check all of your first pressing copies.  But the toughest one of all is the number 8.

As these records have been in storage for many years, they will play back with crackling and tics, however; a good moisturizing and cleaning with either D4 Discwasher or a VPI machine always clears them up.  Thanks!)
