READ THIS! These records are NOT sold for perfect sound quality. They’re sold for their scarcity and VISUAL grading. They’ve been in storage for a decade, and they WILL play with surface noise that can be addressed with D4 or a VPI cleaning. I can’t test-play at the minute. Please don’t bid if this is a problem for you.
Beatles LP 1966 Revolver BEAUTIFUL First-Day Pressing STEREO Still in Shrink A1/A3 NM!
Stunning copy of the Revolver album that has the early A-plates that were issued on the first day of release. I’ve never seen a true A1/A1 copy out of Scranton, but that doesn’t mean they’re not out there.
Vinyl--- NM/NM. Both sides shine like brand new. Both sides look nearly unplayed. Maybe just a hint of dulling of the grooves that I’m not seeing under my light source.
Plates--- A3/A1. Machine-stamped triangle with the letters, “IAM” inside it makes this copy pressed by Scranton.
As many copies of this album that they had to press in order to keep up with the first-released demand, these plates are definitely first-day issue.
Cover--- VG+.
Shrink has a split at the top on the front. Top right corner has a crease on the front. Some places where the cover didn’t protect have yellowed just a little.
Some browning down the mouth on the front cover. Bottom right seam has a 2-inch split at the mouth.
Some shrink is missing on the back cover at the bottom left. Cover has a wrinkle at the bottom left, along with a push-in at that same corner.
Otherwise, a pretty nice white cover where the shrink has stayed intact.
Breathe Holes--- There are two breathe holes on the front cover. One is on Ringo’s left cheek, the other is due east on George’s right cheek.
There are two breathe holes on the back cover. One is beneath John’s name in the “Lead Singer” column, and the other is due east under the word, “Tomorrow” in the Side 2 song titles.
Labels--- NM/NM. Both labels look 1966 freshly-printed brand new. NO SPINDLE MARKS.
Capitol Inner Sleeve--- VG+. Original yellow Capitol inner sleeve is present. Has some creases from improper insertion at the factory. Otherwise, this is a very nice sleeve, NO SPLIT SEAMS.
A generic inner sleeve will be provided, so as not to damage your original Capitol inner sleeve en route.
RIAA: None
A sparkling final upgrade for your collection of first pressings!
As these records have been in storage for many years, they will play back with crackling and tics, however; a good moisturizing and cleaning with either D4 Discwasher or a VPI machine always clears them up. Thanks!)
Note: All LP’s ship outside of their album covers in order not to damage the covers during shipment.
CAUTION! There has been a startling increase in bidders canceling their bids. A word to the wise, I have started blocking any and all bidders who retract their bids regardless of the reason.
Please don’t bid unless you’re willing to honor your amount, okay? Thanks!
(Please note: Regarding play-testing, my Technics turntable has somehow seized. The tone arm is stuck in the up position, and I can’t get it to fully return to its cradle. Is there anyone out there, who can tell me if this is an easy fix? Thanks!)
