READ THIS! These records are NOT sold for perfect sound quality. They’re sold for their scarcity and VISUAL grading. They’ve been in storage for a decade, and they WILL play with surface noise that can be addressed with D4 or a VPI cleaning.  I can’t test-play at the minute. Please don’t bid if this is a problem for you.

So with that said…

Beatles LP 1969 Abbey Road APPLE First Pressing LA Still in Shrink ERROR LABEL SIDE 2!

Many rare Beatles albums still in shrink listed this week.

Vinyl--- VG+. But that’s due mainly to some manufacturer’s defects on both sides.  There are some light light lines that emanate from the label into the vinyl.  My notes say they don’t affect playback.  Apart from those, there are one or two light ones per side.90% original shine.

Plates--- F2/ F2.  Definitely early plates.  Machine-stamped asterisk in the dead wax makes this copy pressed in Los Angeles.

Cover--- NM.  No “Her Majesty” on the back cover.  Shrink has a tear on the back cover, bottom.  However, it did a remarkable job, protecting the entire cover over nearly 5 decades!  Bold colors, snow white spine.

There’s a teeny error that’s kind of cool, because after seeing thousands of covers for this album, I’ve never seen one with this spec of an error.  To the right of Ringo on all covers, there’s a piece of litter, or something in the street.  On this cover, there’s an extra little black blotch.  Check all of your copies.  Of course it’s nothing, but it’s the only nothing I’ve ever seen on one of these!

Breathe Holes--- There are two breathe holes on the front cover.  One is in the treetop to the right of the lamp post, and the other is due south, between Ringo and John.

Labels--- NM/ NM.  When I first saw the Side 2 label, I got excited, because I thought I’d discovered an undocumented label variation.  It looks like the Side 2 album title and track listing are center-justified, rather than the well-known typeset with the title in the upper left shoulder of the Apple.  But upon closer examination, I realized that all of the typeset had shifted dramatically to the right until the album title and track listing were center-justified.  Songwriting credits for “Here Comes the Sun” has “George” boxed in, for some reason.

No “Her Majesty” on the label.  Get it?  Uh-HA-HA-Hah-heh-heh-HAH, oh no, OH NO, HA-HA-ha-HAH Ha, (yes well.)

Capitol Inner Sleeve--- Generic white sleeve with die-cut holes for the labels to show.  NO SPLITS.

RIAA: N/A.

As these records have been in storage for many years, they will play back with crackling and tics, however; a good moisturizing and cleaning with either D4 Discwasher or a VPI machine always clears them up.  Thanks!)

Note:  All LP’s ship outside of their album covers in order not to damage the covers during shipment.

CAUTION!  There has been a startling increase in bidders canceling their bids.  A word to the wise, I have started blocking any and all bidders who retract their bids regardless of the reason.

Please don’t bid unless you’re willing to honor your amount, okay? Thanks!

(Please note:  Regarding play-testing, my Technics turntable has somehow seized.  The tone arm is stuck in the up position, and I can’t get it to fully return to its cradle.  Is there anyone out there, who can tell me if this is an easy fix?  Thanks!)
