READ THIS! These records are NOT sold for perfect sound quality. They’re sold for their scarcity and VISUAL grading. They’ve been in storage for a decade, and they WILL play with surface noise that can be addressed with D4 or a VPI cleaning.  I can’t test-play at the minute. Beatles LP 1969 Abbey Road Apple RARE Ghost Capitol Logo Side 2 in Shrink NM!

I’ve never known how this label variation came into being, but there are a few titles that feature it.  Collectors are familiar with the Apple label with the Capitol logo on the Side 2 label at the 5 o’clock position.  Some collectors are aware that there are copies where this Capitol logo and accompanying text are just barely visible beneath the “Mfd. By Apple Records, Inc.” disclaimer.

Vinyl--- NM/ NM.  This copy is a stunner.  Side 2 has a few passages where the grooves are decidedly deeper.  These are not white groove damage.  You can clearly hear that the bass pops through louder in these grooves than in the rest of the side.  My test-play notes from several years ago state that there is no groove damage, and therefore no distortions during playback.

Plates--- B19/ A12.  VERY close to the first run if it isn’t.  Hand-etched letter “O” in the dead wax on both sides makes this copy pressed in Jacksonville.

Cover--- NM.  Still in shrink with the original price tag still attached to the back cover.  Entire cover has been beautifully preserved, like new.  There is one breach of the shrinkwrap to the front cover near the top on the spine side, and another at the diagonal corner bottom, where the shrink has torn an inch.

Breathe Holes---  There are two breathe holes on the front cover at the top, one on the left in the treetops and the other due east in the blue of the sky.

Labels--- NM/ NM.  Not the slightest sign of a spindle mark.

Capitol Inner Sleeve--- Generic white.

RIAA: N/A.

As these records have been in storage for many years, they will play back with crackling and tics, however; a good moisturizing and cleaning with either D4 Discwasher or a VPI machine always clears them up.  Thanks!)

(Please note:  Regarding play-testing, my Technics turntable has somehow seized.  The tone arm is stuck in the up position, and I can’t get it to fully return to its cradle.  Is there anyone out there, who can tell me if this is an easy fix?  Thanks!)
