READ THIS! These records are NOT sold for perfect sound quality. They’re sold for their scarcity and VISUAL grading. They’ve been in storage for a decade, and they WILL play with surface noise that can be addressed with D4 or a VPI cleaning. I can’t test-play at the minute. Please don’t bid if this is a problem for you.
So with that said…
Beatles LP 1979 Parlophone A Collection of Beatles Oldies 2-Box EMI Import in Shrink, NM!
Cover has the far scarcer “Import England” sticker still affixed to the front cover. The ones you’re thinking of are the “Import Holland” stickers. Those are everywhere.
Vinyl--- NM/NM. Both sides look unplayed.
Plates--- YEX 619 1G/ YEX 620-4. Side 1 plates have the strange symbols, and Side 2 has the “HTM” preparer’s initials.
Cover--- EX. Still in shrink. Cover looks 95% brand new, with the exception of some very light wear down the mouth, where the shrink has exposed the cover.
Original price sticker still affixed.
Import Sticker--- NM. This is the 1970’s import sticker with the round Capitol logo, rather than the no logo at all stickers. These “Import England” stickers were not that common then, and you might see a scarce few per year now. By FAR, the ones you see nowadays are from Holland.
Breathe Holes--- Not in EMI shrink.
Labels--- NM/NM. NO SPINDLE MARKS.
EMI Inner Sleeve--- EX. Sleeve has yellowed, but otherwise, it’s flat and razor-sharp. NO SPLIT SEAMS. The bottom holes are manufactured that way.
Sleeve has the Oxford Street address for the Evelyn House.
A generic inner sleeve will be provided, so as not to damage your original Capitol inner sleeve en route.
As these records have been in storage for many years, they will play back with crackling and tics, however; a good moisturizing and cleaning with either D4 Discwasher or a VPI machine always clears them up. Thanks!)
Note: All LP’s ship outside of their album covers in order not to damage the covers during shipment.
CAUTION! There has been a startling increase in bidders canceling their bids. A word to the wise, I have started blocking any and all bidders who retract their bids regardless of the reason.
Please don’t bid unless you’re willing to honor your amount, okay? Thanks!
(Please note: Regarding play-testing, my Technics turntable has somehow seized. The tone arm is stuck in the up position, and I can’t get it to fully return to its cradle. Is there anyone out there, who can tell me if this is an easy fix? Thanks!)
