READ THIS! These records are NOT sold for perfect sound quality. They’re sold for their scarcity and VISUAL grading. They’ve been in storage for a decade, and they WILL play with surface noise that can be addressed with D4 or a VPI cleaning.  I can’t test-play at the minute. Please don’t bid if this is a problem for you.

Beatles LP A Hard Day’s Night 1968 Pink-Orange “Tell Me Who” Error, Audio Matrix EX!

Most collectors are only too familiar with the very common first pressing black label error, “I Cry Instead.”  You can’t toss a rock without hitting one of those.

The rarer “Tell Me Who” label error was actually issued onto four different United Artists label variations.  Two of them are for sale this week in marvelous condition.  The other two are on the tan label, which are common, and the sunrise label, which isn’t common.  All of these error labels have corrected counterparts.

The two most difficult variations are the pink and orange 1968 pressing, and the black and orange 1970 pressing.

If you’re still in need of copies for your collection, both of these are keepers!

Vinyl--- EX/EX.  Side 1 has one extremely light and short angel hair.  Side 2 has one pock mark dot, which is feelable in the track, “Ringo’s Theme” (This Boy) Instrumental.  Otherwise, both sides look brand new, straight from the record shop.

Plates--- Apart from the catalogue numbers, 6366-1/6366-2, there’s also the “Audio Matrix” stamp on each side.

Collectors know what kind of exemplary sound quality to expect from Audio Matrix lathes.  Only a few titles from The Beatles’ catalogue were treated to Audio Matrix pressings, and this is one of them.

Cover--- VG+.  Structurally solid cover.  Front cover has some light ringwear at the top.  Top and bottom seams have minimal shelfwear.  Spine has some sun-fading.

Back cover has the appropriate two-lines, “All songs written by Lennon and McCartney” disclaimer beneath George Martin’s name, which was in use in the late 60’s.  Earlier pressings had additional information.

Labels--- NM/NM.  Both labels look freshly-printed.  NO SPINDLE MARKS.

UA Inner Sleeve--- NM.  Original pink/orange UA inner sleeve is present.  Colors are punchy and bright.  Sleeve looks just as it did when it was first pulled from the cover in 1968.  NO SEAM SPLITS.

A generic inner sleeve will be provided, so as not to damage your original UA inner sleeve en route.

RIAA: N/A

As these records have been in storage for many years, they will play back with crackling and tics, however; a good moisturizing and cleaning with either D4 Discwasher or a VPI machine always clears them up.  Thanks!)

Note:  All LP’s ship outside of their album covers in order not to damage the covers during shipment.

CAUTION!  There has been a startling increase in bidders canceling their bids.  A word to the wise, I have started blocking any and all bidders who retract their bids regardless of the reason.

Please don’t bid unless you’re willing to honor your amount, okay? Thanks!

(Please note:  Regarding play-testing, my Technics turntable has somehow seized.  The tone arm is stuck in the up position, and I can’t get it to fully return to its cradle.  Is there anyone out there, who can tell me if this is an easy fix?  Thanks!)
