The Beatles – ‘Beatles For Sale’, ‘Parlophone’ rim labels, ‘Recording First Published …’ and with ‘Sold in UK…’ label text, catalogue number PMC 1240. An early advance copy pressed ahead of the original release date of 4th December 1964.
Genuine UK earliest 1st Pressing with stunning analogue audio and 1st mother stamper.
When it comes to the mono version of ‘Beatles For Sale’ -1N & -2N matrices were not used. The matrix sequence began at -3N and so is the earliest possibly matrix for this UK release.

EXCELLENT+
A superb example of this 1st issue gatefold sleeve characterised by the dark cover; later issues were much lighter. Due to the somewhat flimsy construction, these 1st issue covers did not hold up even to moderate handling as the record was located within the gatefold, consequently these covers are now incredibly tough to find in this condition. This 1st issue cover shows only very light signs of handling. The cover still retains its original high gloss laminate sheen. The spine is uncrushed and fully legible. Grades overall at excellent +.
Disc
Visual: Side one VERY GOOD+ Side two EXCELLENT
A well looked after record that has been played and enjoyed. Side one grades at VG+ and has visible light marks most noticeable under a bright halogen light but nothing feelable or anything that could be described as a scratch. Side two grades at full excellent with superficial marks not really evident when viewed in daylight. The disc does retain a significant amount of its original high gloss sheen. This heavy duty vinyl lies 100% flat on the turntable.
Labels: EXCELLENT
A great set of labels showing only light spindle marks. The original silver text is still bright and fresh. Side two carries the KT tax code. There is no writing or personalisation to either label.
Audio: EXC+ to MINT-
There is some light surface noise in places but overall a stunning audio experience. Superb and vibrant analogue sound throughout with little to no groovewear. The record does not jump or stick.
Inner-sleeve EXCELLENT
Clean & correct 1964 ‘rice paper’ inner with no writing.
