Beatles LP Introducing the Beatles Genuine, First Pressing Ver. 2 Impressive Copy!

A1 plates!  First pressing Version 2

Ever try to find a decent copy of this album?  It’s pretty incredible that for a non-Capitol album, whenever you find most copies, it’s somewhere between VG- and old dog dish condition, right?

This copy, vinyl and cover are not NM, but boy is this package beautiful.  A final upgrade for most collectors, unless you have an unlimited budget to look for a stone mint copy.

Vinyl--- EX/EX.  Both sides shine like they are nearly new.  However, there are isolated patches of very fine hairlines that you won’t easily find upon first glance.  Just short of a NM copy.

Plates--- The following markings appear on both sides, all required to qualify as a first pressing Version 2:

Audio Matrix (machine-stamped)

ARP (machine-stamped)

URJ (hand-etched)

63-3402-1/ 63-3403-1 (hand-etched)

1-23-64 (hand-etched)

(Very lightly at the 1 o’clock position on Side 1, and at the 8 o’clock position on Side 2):  A1.

Cover--- This is the second-best cover I have ever seen in 45 years.  The best cover stays in my collection.  Both front and back covers are completely 100% free of ANY dirtwear, ringwear or slick loss.  Both seams and spine are completely 100% solid in terms of structure.  NO splitting, not even almost.

The extent of damage to this cover is that there is some crackling of the slick at the top seam, and extremely little to the bottom seam.  NO SHELFWEAR.  Bottom left corner has a moderate push-in.  Back cover is 95% snow white, with just a little bit of fade.  Also, a little bit of foxing can be found if you hold it right up to your nose and scrutinize.

Labels--- EX/ EX.  Full gloss, but with one or two very light spindle marks per side.  I took bright, sharp photos, which highlight them, but they are not as pronounced on the labels themselves.

Side 1 label has the songwriting credit error under track 4, “Chains” as “Coffin-King,” rather than “Goffin.”

Inner Sleeve--- This copy was issued with a plain white sleeve with no die-cut hole for the labels to show.  Sleeve is aged with yellowing.  NO SPLITS.  A little crackling from having become brittle.

This was my keeper for decades until I found one in NM condition.  That took 40 years to beat out this copy!  Now it’s your keeper.

As these records have been in storage for many years, they will play back with crackling and tics, however; a good moisturizing and cleaning with either D4 Discwasher or a VPI machine always clears them up.  Thanks!)

Note:  All LP’s ship outside of their album covers in order not to damage the covers during shipment.

CAUTION!  There has been a startling increase in bidders canceling their bids.  A word to the wise, I have started blocking any and all bidders who retract their bids regardless of the reason.

Please don’t bid unless you’re willing to honor your amount, okay? Thanks!

(Please note:  Regarding play-testing, my Technics turntable has somehow seized.  The tone arm is stuck in the up position, and I can’t get it to fully return to its cradle.  Is there anyone out there, who can tell me if this is an easy fix?  Thanks!)
