Description

This week, there are several MONO first pressing LP’s for sale.  None of these are Near Mint, but none of these are below the very high end of VG.  Most are VG+, and some are a beautiful VG++, dangerously close to NM.  All of these copies would make either very nice first copies, many steps above filler copies, or else they will make great Christmas gifts for your collector who is missing any of these titles.  Please feel free to peruse.

Beatles LP Introducing the Beatles MONO GENUINE A1/1A PLATES VG+/VG++!

Vinyl--- Under normal room lighting, both sides shine new, with a few exceptions of light scratches.  Under the bare bulb, both sides of the LP reveal many more hairlines.  But mostly, there is original gloss.  This copy is one of the better ones I’ve ever seen.  We’ve all seen copies that are hammered into sit-and-spin grading.  Not this one.

Vee Jay labels are sharp and gorgeous also.  Side two has one spindle mark that you’ll need a bare bulb to find.  Titles are center-justified.  Harder to find than the left-justified titles.  Look at the songwriting credits for “Chains” on side 1.  This is the much rarer “Coffin-King” error, as opposed to the corrected “Goffin-King.”

Trail-off on side one bears the “Audio Matrix” logo, and the “URJ” initials.  Side 2 has both of those, plus the “ARP” insignia.

Plates--- Side 1, very lightly at the 4 o’clock position in the dead wax, you will find the “A1,” the URJ plate number. Side 2, very lightly between the 6 o’clock and 7 o’clock positions, you will find the “1A,” ARP plate number.

Cover--- Structurally very solid.  Top and bottom seams have moderate shelfwear.  Some cracking of the slick, but no splits.  Please be sure not to store the LP in this cover!  Spine is strong.  No splits, minimal wear to each corner.  Front cover has a crease at the top, grazing the “L” in “BEATLES.”  Very light ringwear at bottom.  A small push-in to the bottom left corner.  Back cover is equally strong.  The crease from the front carries to the back.  There is light ringwear.  No dirtwear to either side.  This cover is appropriate in condition to the LP.  VERY NICE PACKAGE!

Inner Sleeve--- Original Vee Jay inner sleeve is present, and in muscular condition.  Nice and flat, no wrinles, no splits.  As Vee Jay sleeves characteristically do, the glue strips down both sides show. Very little yellowing!  Vee Jay sleeves are prone to become brittle, since the paper stock was not very heavy.  This sleeve is still flexible, and bright.

Gorgeous LP all around, certainly keeper quality, but not Near Mint.

Note:  All LP’s ship outside of their album covers in order not to damage the covers during shipment.

CAUTION!  There has been a startling increase in bidders canceling their bids.  I’m selling these records in order to meet my rent, bills and doctor’s appointments.  A word to the wise, I have started blocking any and all bidders who retract their bids regardless of the reason.

Please don’t bid unless you’re willing to honor your amount, okay? Thanks!

(Please note that due to time constraints, I have had to stop play-testing my vinyl.  However, I am happy to by request.  As these records have been in storage for many years, they will play back with crackling and tics, however; a good moisturizing and cleaning with either D4 Discwasher or a VPI machine always clears them up.  Thanks!)

Check out my other auctions for more hard-to-find vinyl!
