Beatles LP The Early Beatles Apple NO “Mfd. By Apple” on EITHER SIDE. SCARCE.
Many know that the ocean contains the raindrop. Not many know that the raindrop contains the ocean.
Similarly, not many collectors know that there was an incredibly brief period of time when Beatles albums on the Apple label were pressed with no “Mfd. By Apple, Inc.” disclaimer on either side of the record. These were not errors, although some copies are hybrids. I have been able to verify eight titles so far, in addition to Lennon’s “Mind Games” LP. There are certainly more, I’ve just not found them in 40 years of collecting and researching.
This copy is a Los Angeles pressing.
Vinyl--- VG+. Looks unplayed under normal room lighting. But under a bare bulb, a modest number of scratches appear, the worst of them being extremely light.
Plates--- H12/ H13
Cover--- Structurally solid, no splits. Shows light to moderate ringwear on the front, moderate ringwear and dirtwear to the back. NO SPLIT SEAMS.
Labels--- Side 1 NM store stock new-looking. Side 2 VG++, due to one light spindle mark.
Capitol Inner Sleeve--- Plain white sleeve with a die-cut hole for the label to show through. NO SPLIT SEAMS.
RIAA--- 12. It’s doubtful that this is the original cover, since most LA covers had 18 or 19 RIAA’s. But because this was the cover that was included when I bought this copy used, it will be the one you receive, just in case this really is the original cover to this album.
Super rare label variation. Now that you know of its existence, I suppose that I have competition on the other titles I’ve not yet verified!

(Please note: Regarding play-testing, my Technics turntable has somehow seized. The tone arm is stuck in the up position, and I can’t get it to fully return to its cradle. Is there anyone out there, who can tell me if this is an easy fix? Thanks!)
As these records have been in storage for many years, they will play back with crackling and tics, however; a good moisturizing and cleaning with either D4 Discwasher or a VPI machine always clears them up. Thanks!)
