1969 UK 1st PRESS *MONO* DOUBLE EP SET
This NEAR MINT 1967 UK 1st MONO pressing double EP set is on the black & silver Parlophone labels: MMT 1
All labels include the 'Sold in UK..' text & have 'Gramophone Co. Ltd..' rims.
The 'KT' purchase tax codes are visible in centres of labels 1 & 3.
Housed in a outer laminated, storybook picture cover with blue centre lyric sheet.
The set is complete with both its original white inner-sleeves.
Matrix numbers: 7XCE 18435-1, 4-1 & 6-1, 7-2
Stamper codes: 3/AH, 6/GDP & 1/T, 2/T
CONDITION
Labels: Disc 1: NEAR MINT Disc 2: MINT
Both labels on disc 1 have single light spindle trail around each centre hole, whilst there are none on disc 2.
Both discs visual: NEAR MINT
All playing surfaces are pristine and 'as new' in strong daylight with just a few barely visible wispy paper hairlines directly beneath my powerful halogen desk lamp. Very hard to upgrade this set.
Play: NEAR MINT
All tracks on this barely played copy play without any trace of any groove/play wear. My careful playcheck at volume packed up slight background between tracks on side 1 but the frequently and easily worn 'Fool On The Hill' plays cleanly & clearly throughout. All tracks are free from any clicks, pops or any other such audible distractions or wear.
Cover
NEAR MINT
A clean & vibrant example which retains a high-gloss, undamaged & unscratched laminate front & rear. Apart from a hint of shelfwear to the lower corners, this looks like it has just left the shop this morning, let alone 42 years ago! All inside pages of the booklet are clean & undamaged and the 3 centre staples are intact & unrusted.
Inner-sleeves
EXCELLENT +
Both are pristine clean & white with a few unavoidable light storage wrinkles, but no splits, tears or writing.
