Understanding the 'Beatles Butcher Album':
The original artwork of "'Yesterday' & Today" was so unpopular at the time, that it sparked an outrage and a demand for a new cover. However, a few of the originals escaped with the original 'butcher' artwork--these are the first states which have never had anything pasted over them. The rest were recalled by Capitol to have the new artwork pasted over--these are the second state issues which upon inspection can be seen to have the original 'butcher' image underneath. Lastly, many, many people overtime have peeled the new artwork off to reveal the original artwork underneath--these are the third states, which, like this one here, are generally in rough shape!
CONDITION
Labels: VERY GOOD
The labels have some wear around the spindle hole.
Visual: GOOD MINUS
The vinyl still has a nice shine to it, but there are many hairline scratches and scuffs.
Sound Quality: GOOD
The sound is enjoyable, but does have quite a bit of background noise.
Sleeve:
This particular butcher album has been partially restored. The front cover, however, is still worn after the restoration, and has some paper remnants and several tears. The spine has been glued back together, but the remaining sides are all solid and intact. There is a small amount of warping of the cardboard--which is common for third states due to the steaming process used to remove the outer slick. The sleeve also smells a little like the solvent that was used to remove the outer slick (hopefully this will wear off).GUARANTEED TO BE 100% AS DESCRIBED & AUTHENTIC! NO RISK!
