- For sale is an authentic ‘Yesterday and Today’ second State aka paste-over, Butcher Cover album by The Beatles. Released in June, 1966 on Capitol Records this jacket has the replacement trunk cover pasted over the original that shows the band in butcher smocks with chunks of raw meat and decapitated dolls strewn over them. There’s no question about the butcher slick being beneath the trunk as a portion of it is showing on the left at top! Some collectors believe that this adds value as there’s no doubt to whether or not it’s truly a paste-over. Small #6 beside RIAA symbol on back indicates the LA, CA pressing plant. These white jackets were typically prone to discoloration but this one is super clean & white. The jacket’s back is also remarkably clean. Both seams are intact as is majority of spine except for a small area at bottom. Only other ‘flaw’ is a small bit of trunk cover missing at bottom rt. corner. Butcher slick has not been affected.

An original mono record is included and visually grades VG+ or better but has not been play tested. Comes with Capitol Records inner slv. As a bonus we’re including a copy of the recall letter which is from a 1st generation of the actual Capitol letter! Also included is a beautiful, hi-rez reproduction of the original butcher cover. These look great framed together.
This is a very nice mono 2nd state Y&T album if you’ve been looking for one.
