The Beatles
3rd State (Peeled) Mono Butcher Cover
West Coast - Los Angeles, CA issue
Includes high quality reproduction of 6/14/66 recall letter
Comes in a Japanese resealable sleeve

This is an ORIGINAL June 1966 U.S. issue "Yesterday...And Today" LP with the "trunk" cover removed to reveal the infamous "Butcher" cover underneath. The cover is the West Coast variety (#6 next to the RIAA logo on the back).

The top portion of the cover is actually quite nice with only some minor paper residue remaining (could be removed and cleaned up a bit more). The bottom portion of the cover is the result of exposure to moisture while in storage. While not a perfect peel, this cover is certainly a grade above many filler copies we've seen on Ebay.

All seams have been professionally repaired due to significant splitting--there is no loose paper. The title spine has about 30% of the original paper with "Yesterday...and Today" and "The Beatles" mostly intact. The back cover, unfortunately, has some missing paper and staining--but you aren't going to display the back cover now, are you? As with most peeled Butchers, there is a slight bend to the cover from the peeling process which should flatten over time. When framed, this would not be noticable.

In addition to the cover, the auction includes a high-quality reproduction of the original Capitol recall letter asking retailers to return the album!
