THE BEATLES - 'PLEASE, PLEASE ME'

1963 UK *STEREO* PRESSING LP

**1st BLACK & YELLOW 'FACTORY SAMPLE' LABELS**

Here is a rare chance to own one of the rarest UK Beatles LPs, and in remarkable condition too.

This very first version of the black & yellow label was pressed in tiny quantites and is arguably rarer than black & gold stereo labelled copies.

This copy is so early it even carries a '1/G' mother/stamper code on side 2, confirming it as one of the first 300 copies ever pressed.

This ultra-rare 1963 stereo pressing is on the 1st impression UK black & yellow Parlophone label: PCS 3042
Both labels omit the 'Sold In UK..' & 'Recording First Published..' texts.
Both carry the small '33 1/3' figure in the 9 o'clock position.
The side 1 label carries a genuine, pointed-ended 'Factory Sample' sticker.
There is no tax/price code is visible in the centre either label.

Housed in a front laminated, tri-flipback 'E.J. Day' printed cover 'large' stereo logo cover.
Complete with its original 'Use Emitex' poly-lined inner-sleeve.

Matrix numbers: YEX 94-1 & YEX 95-1
Stamper numbers: 1/P & 1/G

Labels: NEAR MINT

Visual: NEAR MINT

Outstanding pristine, undulled surfaces which retain their deep gloss shines with no groove-whitening or inner-sleeve 'bag-rash'.
Viewed in strong daylight both sides appear in 'MINT' condition with absolutely no scuffs, marks or scratches to either side.
Close inspection beneath a halogen desk lamp reveals just a few faint & wispy sleeve removal hairlines but no marks or scratches.
Pressed on thick & heavy sharp-edged vinyl, which lies 100% flat on both sides with no signs of dishing or warping.

Audio: NEAR MINT

A remarkable sounding copy which has clearly only been played a few times and only on top-quality equipment.
Listening at volume, all tracks play 'as new' with no trace of any crackle or groove/peak wear distortion in either channel.
Both run-ins & all bands play silently and there are certainly no clicks, hiss, pops or indeed any audible faults anywhere.

Cover: EXCELLENT PLUS

A vibrant front panel with a clean & glossy unscratched laminante bearing just a few light wrinkles to the edges and 2 small & light 'thumbnail' creases.
The corners are in superb shape with just some minor shelfwear to the lower two, but no bumps or heavy bruising.
The opening edges are both clean sharp & unworn with no tears or feathering.
The rear panel is clean & white displaying a few small foxing/age spots, but no marks, writing or missing paper.
Even the easily damaged lower edge is in perfect condition with no laminate flaking, splits or missing paper.
All the delicate flipbacks are present & intact, and the spine clean & perfectly worded.

Inner-sleeve: EXCELLENT PLUS

A few small age spots but no major faults.
