Description

Beatles Gold and Black Stereo PCS 3042, one of only 900 made and this belongs to the first 300, and overall VG to excellent condition.  This is the first press DICK JAMES credit label and original ANGUS McBEAN photo credit on cover,  with Parlaphone Co rim text on label.  Matrix No YEX-94-1/YEX-95-1.  Stamper codes are G and R with ZMT tax codes on label.  The vinyl looks near excellent under a normal light, but for this LP I thought it deserved a spotlight and is probably nearer VG, side 1 vinyl I would be happy to grade as being VG+, side 2 has a few more light scuffs and small marks and is probably nearer a VG.  This LP plays extremely well with no jumps or clicks on side 1, but you can hear the odd light crackle through the second and third tracks on side 2, having said all that out of only 900 pressed I would imagine this LP to be in the top 20% for condition, it really is a good looking LP.  The label on side 1 has some light bubbling, probably like this from the factory, but is in excellent condition besides from this (see photo).  The label on side 2 is excellent with no wear and is nice and clear.  The front cover has some wear to the corners, see photo, but not a lot except the bottom right where a little of the spine is worn, unfortunately half of this wear is over the photographers name Angus McBean, see close up photo below.   Generally the front cover looks great nice, clean and shiny, no tears or missing laminate and all four of them look fab.  The back cover looks pretty good to, but des have a tear bottom left where approximately one inch of flipover has been torn (see photo). The bottom right has a crease in the flipover, this seems like a factory mistake, and there looks like a possible rubbed out name above the PCS matrix top right.  Having said all this for a non laminate white back cover it is remarkably clean and bright and in great condition.  The vinyl is in its original emitex bag which is in excellent condition.  Good luck!!

Payment can be made by Paypal or UK cheque.  Postage costs by Royal Mail for within UK are £15.00 including insurance up to £2,500. Postage to other countries will be about £90 by airmail with similar insurance. The LP will be mailed out in very secure packaging
