Description
This is an original UK 1st Issue LP of the Beatles Debut Album 'Please Please Me' fron 1963 on the incredibly rare Parlophone Black & Gold label.
The Picture above is of the actual record for sale.
The record is a Mono pressing with catalogue number PMC 1202 and the 'Dick James Music Company Publishing Credit' for the Please Please Me Track!
The Matrices are XEX 421-1N and XEX 422-1N! (very first press!)
This particular copy also has a 'Factory Sample' sticker on one on the label from side 2 which suggests it could be one of the earliest copies ever?

The Record is not ex or mint but can be played and enjoyed in fact the sound is pretty good! I rate the condition as overall vg-
The cover is the correct heavy card flipback Ernest J Day sleeve. The writing on the spine is clear but the corners are worn and there is some splitting to the bottom edge. The lamination to the front cover has also rippled. However, there are no significant tears and the cover is still very attractive.
The inner is the correct heavy paper and polythene 'emitex' and apart from discolouration due to its age, (45 years!), it is still in excellent condition with no rips or tears!
The disc has surface marks to both sides but these do not detract from the sound very much at all! There is the occassional very faint background noise but this is only really in the fade out of some tracks. This is still a very enjoyable record with no skips or jumps or major scratches. I would conservatively grade this at vg-!
The Black and Gold labels are a little faded in places and there are a few rubs to the outer parts of the labels, however the gold writing is still visable and one can clearly see this is the first Parlophone Black and Gold label.
This is probably the first and only time I will be selling an original 1st UK Pressing of the Beatles 1st Album from 1963 with this incredibly rare label and matrix! Please don't miss out, these are getting very difficult to find!!!
