'PLEASE, PLEASE ME'
1963 UK **1st YELLOW & BLACK LABEL** MONO LP
***RARE SMALL 33 1/3 LABELS**
Without doubt rarer than the 1st issue gold & black pressings, this issue was the first true yellow & black label issue.
Issue for an extremely short period directly after the gold & black labels, the lower half of the label carried the same text including the small '33 1/3'.

This extremely rare 1963 early mono pressing is on the first type UK black & yellow Parlophone label: PMC 1202
Both labels include the small '33 1/3' figure at the 9 o' clock position and 'Parlophone Co. Ltd..' rims.
Both labels omit the 'Sold in UK..' and the 'Recording First Published..' texts.
The early 'MT' tax/price code is visible in the centre of the side 1 label.
Housed in the correct front laminated, tri-flipback 'E.J. Day' cover, with the 'Angus McBean' credit in the extreme right-hand corner.
Complete with original poly-lined 'Use Emitex' inner-sleeve.
Matrix numbers: XEX 421-1N & XEX 422-1N
Stamper numbers: 1/PM & 1,2/GO
Labels: VERY GOOD PLUS
Initials in red on the side one label, but side 2 is clean and unmarked.
Visual: VERY GOOD
Although played many times, the surfaces are clean and bright and retain a respectable gloss finish.
There is just one 1cm just scratch on side 1 but I have played through it many times and cannot hear it at all.
Some light fingernail scuffs and occaisional light stylus lines are visible but no other major visible faults.
Very thick heavy vinyl which lies 100% flat on the turntable with no dishing or warping.
Audio: VERY GOOD
Clear and focused sound with very little lessening to the sound quality, just light wear to the extreme peaks and some low-level crackle between tracks.
However there are no heavy clicks or pops and the disc plays well throughout without any jumps or repeats.
Cover: VERY GOOD PLUS
A correct early example with a bright and clean front panel displaying some light creasing and some small 'pitting' marks but no major wear.
The corners and opening edges show some general storage and handling wear but there are no tears.
The rear panel has a small stain towards the opening edge and minor discolouration but no major marks or any writing.
All the delicate flipbacks are in place with no damage missing paper/laminate, and all seams and the spine are strong and unsplit.
Strict visual grading in daylight and directly under a halogen desk lamp & audibly at volume on high-end audio equipment
