RARE MONO FIRST PRESSING, WITH ALTERNATE VERSION OF TOMORROW NEVER KNOWS, SIDE 2 MATRIX XEX 606-1, RESPECTABLE EXAMPLE, WITH E.J. DAY SLEEVE.
The Beatles ‘REVOLVER’ album - considered one of most ICONIC and COLLECTIBLE Albums of the 20th Century - was released by Parlophone UK in 1966. EXTREMELY SOUGHT AFTER by Collectors around the World today, this is a RESPECTABLE example of the RARE FIRST ISSUE MONO VARIANT LP, with the side 2 matrix of **XEX 606-1**, containing the ALTERNATE VERSION of TOMORROW NEVER KNOWS.
Album Description and Condition:
The ORIGINAL 1966 UK MONO, FIRST ISSUE Parlophone Vinyl LP is on the traditional Black and Yellow Parlophone Label, with ‘The Gramophone Co Ltd’ label rim, with ‘Sold in UK…..’ and ‘Made in Gt. Britain’ label text.
Both record labels are in RESPECTABLE Very good plus condition, showing some centre spider trails.
Both sides of the HEAVYWEIGHT Vinyl Disc are in VG (very good) condition, showing surface scratches but NO deep scuffs or deep scratches.
The album plays well throughout, with background crackle to both sides and the odd click, there are NO SKIPS to any of the tracks.
Side 1 matrix: XEX 605-2 and Side 2 XEX 606-1.
Side 1 stampers: 1R and Side 2: 1G.
There is an embossed ‘KT’ tax/price code visible to the centre of the side 2 record label.
The album comes in an ORIGINAL ‘Made In Gt Britain’ inner bag which is in RESPECTABLE condition. There is NO handwriting or seam splitting, just some age discolouration to the edges.
The Vinyl LP is housed in an ORIGINAL, Front LAMINATED, FIRST ISSUE, Ernest J. Day & Co Ltd, London sleeve, printed ‘mono’ to the top right hand corner.
The Ernest J. Day & Co sleeve is in excellent minus condition. The front laminated panel still retains its gloss, with only mild corner bruising to each corner, and a couple of creases to the top left and bottom right corners, The back panel is clean and undamaged. All three flipbacks are in tact. The spine edge and other two edges are undamaged. There is some age discolouration to the opening edge of the sleeve, and light record indentation.
Overall a RESPECTABLE all round example of this ICONIC RARE Variant Beatles UK FIRST ISSUE Album.
