Description
THE BEATLES
'REVOLVER'
Matrix numbers:
Side 1 XEX 605-2
Side 2 XEX 606-1
UK MONO 1st pressing on the Black & Yellow Parlophone label: PMC 7009 featuring the alternate 'remix 11' take of 'Tomorrow Never Knows' available only on mono discs with the XEX 606-1, side 2 matrix.
Both labels include the 'Sold in UK.' text beneath PARLOPHONE name and 'the Gramophone Co.' rim text.
The side 2 label carries the 'Dr. Robert' spelling & a 'KT' purchase tax code is embedded on the label
Housed in a front laminated, tri-flipback 'E.J DAY' printed cover with the small 'mono' front indicator.
I am including two original inner EMI covers since both seem to have been used-one is the polylined Emitex (used in the picture) and the other is original 'Patents Applied For' plain cover
CONDITION
Disc Labels
Both are clean & bright with just a small collection of light spindle marks around each centre hole.
Disc
Both playing surfaces of this well looked-after copy retain a deep-gloss shine. On side two there is a wispy hairline across the tracks-this is visible as the record is tilted. Beneath my Tech light it’s obvious this is really nothing. On side one there are a couple more tiny wispy hairlines.Overall it’s in beautiful condition.
Cover
As you can see from the pictures this is an extremely clean copy. The front panel is clean, glossy and white, with just a couple of spine wrinkles. Actually it’s more just one, near the bottom which is about an inch long. There is a little light ring wear-only obvious if the cover is tilted All corners seem to be free from any bumps or bruises and both opening edges sharp and hardly worn. The rear panel is clean & black where it should be with no writing or missing paper. Slight ring wear-and I mean slight! The flipbacks are clean & fully intact-with just slight storage wear on the inner part ie on the inside edge and where it lips over the corner. The seams and the spine seem pretty smooth with only light wear.
Fabulous
