THE BEATLES - 'RUBBER SOUL'


Two variations exist of this exceptionally rare cover with front stereo indicators - one silver and one black.

This example has the rarer black indicator which was quickly replaced with the more visible silver lettered version.

These special covers are believed to have been produced in minute quantities for export purposes only.


The disc inside is a 1968 stereo pressing on the black & yellow Parlophone label: PCS 3075

Both labels have the 'Sold in UK...' text with a 'KT' purchase tax code in the centre of the side 2 label.


Matrix numbers: YEX 178-3 & YEX 179-3

Stamper codes: 2/GM & 2/L

Vinyl weight: 137g


As mentioned above, the front laminated 'Garrod & Lofthouse' printed tri-flipback cover bears a black 'stereo' front indicator.

Complete with its original red & white EMI advertising inner-sleeve.



CONDITION

Cover: VERY GOOD -

This rare example is fully intact with general/moderate handling & storagewear. The glossy front panel has some 'half-moon' wrinkles towards its opening edge as well as several spine wrinkles. There is some wear to the corner tips and opening edges but no tears or splits anywhere. The exposed rear panel has some age-related discolouration, mostly to towards the opening edge, but no writing or missing paper. Both seams are fully intact and the spine is fully worded. A tough one to find in any condition.

Disc: VERY GOOD -

Played a number of times and numerous wispy marks are visible on both playing surfaces. Both sides play with some light background between tracks and on quieter passages but no major faults. The original owner has etched his name into the side 1 run-out which does not affect play.
