READ THIS! These records are NOT sold for perfect sound quality. They’re sold for their scarcity and VISUAL grading. They’ve been in storage for a decade, and they WILL play with surface noise that can be addressed with D4 or a VPI cleaning.  I can’t test-play at the minute. Please don’t bid if this is a problem for you.

I recently took in a large collection of Beatles albums, which range in condition from a nice VG to EX.  They feature labels from first pressing Capitol to Apple through to the purple Capitol label.  I tossed out all the garbage, and will be selling these copies interspersed with my regular inventory for anyone who would like to have great play-copies, but who generally can’t afford the rarer variations for sale.

The vinyl is collectable on these, although the covers may be a bit dirty, and/or split.  Here’s one that’s a great keeper copy!

Beatles Second Album 1964 First Pressing LP Tightly-Spaced “STEREO” EX/NM STUNNER!

God, I love these first-pressing LA early plates.  They sound rich and deep, and the vinyl quality from 1964 is top-notch stuff.  This one is one of the best copies I’ve ever seen.

Vinyl--- EX/NM.  Side 1 has just two extremely light lines that are very short in a sea of brand new shine.  Side 2 is dangerously close to unplayed-looking.  Easily 99% original shine.

Plates--- B6/A5.  This copy has the wide 5-pointed star in the dead wax from 1963, as opposed to the more familiar machine-stamped asterisk from 1964, making this a first pressing from Los Angeles.

Cover--- VG.  Would have easily been graded VG+, except for the top seam.  Anybody who owns a cat AND records will recognize the signature that claws and teeth left on the top seam of this cover.  Just a light amount of yellowing as well.

Labels--- NM/NM.  Full 100% gloss from 1964.  Tightly-spaced “STEREO” to the left of the playhole were the very first copies in the country to pop out of the plant, and into the stores.  NO SPINDLE MARKS.

Capitol Inner Sleeve--- VG+. Dark blue Capitol inner sleeve, as opposed to the later 1964 cobalt blue sleeve is present.  Features the west coast thumb tab on the Leggy Pee side.  Sleeve presents as NM, flat and razor-sharp edges.  The only flaw is a ¼-inch bottom seam split.  Beautiful sleeve.

A generic inner sleeve will be provided, so as not to damage your original Capitol inner sleeve en route.

RIAA: 6

Drop-dead gorgeous copy!

As these records have been in storage for many years, they will play back with crackling and tics, however; a good moisturizing and cleaning with either D4 Discwasher or a VPI machine always clears them up.  Thanks!)

Note:  All LP’s ship outside of their album covers in order not to damage the covers during shipment.

CAUTION!  There has been a startling increase in bidders canceling their bids.  A word to the wise, I have started blocking any and all bidders who retract their bids regardless of the reason.

Please don’t bid unless you’re willing to honor your amount, okay? Thanks!

(Please note:  Regarding play-testing, my Technics turntable has somehow seized.  The tone arm is stuck in the up position, and I can’t get it to fully return to its cradle.  Is there anyone out there, who can tell me if this is an easy fix?  Thanks!)
