THE BEATLES - 'SGT PEPPER'S LONELY HEARTS CLUB BAND'

2 X UK 1967 1-SIDED MONO TEST PRESSINGS

**ULTRA-RARE & 100% GENUINE**

Here is a rare opportunity to acquire one of the earliest ever production copies of one of the most influential albums of all time

A set of two genuine UK 1967 1-sided *MONO* test pressings of The Beatles' LP 'Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band'.

Both were formerly the property of worker at the EMI factory in Hayes, England and were used as a final check just before the final pressing production begun.
Each disc contains one side of the final released version of 'Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band', complete with repeating inner-groove at the end of side 2.
The labels on all sides are plain white and both playing sides bear the embossed 'KT' tax/price code either side of the centre holes.
The non-playing side of each disc contains no music, just a continuous reference tone.

Each disc is housed within a white 'Patents Applied For' plain white inner-sleeve. No main outer cover is present.

Matrix numbers: XEX 637-1 & XEX 638-1
Stamper numbers: 1/G & 1/G

The '1/G, 1/G' mother/stamper codes confirm that these discs were two of the first few copies ever pressed.

  Weights: Disc 1. 125g   Disc 2. 123g

All Labels: EXCELLENT

As you can see, both playing side labels have some writing on them but are otherwise unblemished and have no missing paper.
The non-playing side labels have only spindle trails around the centre hole but no other wear or faults.

Both Discs - Visual: VERY GOOD

All surfaces are clean but do display some light surface marks/scuffs together with an occaisional light scratch consistant with moderate use and handling.
Close inspection of both discs directly under a halogen desk reveals numerous light hairline scratches, none of which are deep or 'feelable'.
Both discs lie 100% flat on the turntable with no signs or dishing or warping.

Both Discs - Audio: VERY GOOD

Both discs have been played many times and some light intermittant background is audible in the quieter passages together with an occaisional light click.
However, the sound is generally of excellent quality and there are no heavy clicks, pops, jumps, repeats or any further major audible faults.

Inner-sleeves: GOOD

Both have general handling wear and lower seam splits.
'XEX 637' and 'XEX 638' is handwritten on each together with the LP title on one and the group name and a large '2' on the other.
