Beatles Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band UK Parlophone PCS 7027 Stereo lp
Matrices YEX 637-1 YEC 637-2
The record is in excellent conditon. It is clean, flat and very shiny. There is no intrusive noise except for a very light crackle in the run ins that is immediately drowned out by the music. There is a 1cm mark visible in daylight that covers the track "fixing a hole". It is not deep and makes no contribution to the sound. In very bright light there is some very light bag rash. Again this makes no difference to the sound which is superb throughout.
The labels are in excellent condition with only a few spindle marks to show the lp has been played.
The cover is in excellent condition: indeed it is the best cover of this vintage I have ever seen. It is clean and very shiny and has almost no scratching/dulling of the laminate. It really does look new in this respect. It is not, however, totally mint (though it is pretty close): there is some very light corner wear and some grubbiness where the laminate has shrunk. There is also a difficult to see horizontal crease to the front. I mention these to be picky: this is genuinely a stunning cover.
The cutout sheet is in excellent condition with no issues at all.
Sadly the psychedelic inner is not present. I mentioned this to the guy I bought it from who bought it new. He said that it didn't come with one so this may be a transitional copy just before the one box emi which also didn't have the inner sleeve. The inner sleeve is the same as one box copies but has the catalogue no written on it by the shop that sold it so it is graded vg.
This is close to a final upgrade copy. The missing inner and soundless mark might put off the most exacting of collectors but anyone else will be delighted with this one.
