Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band
Capitol Stereo Acetate LP

This LHCB acetate LP has the banding different from the official vinyl release. Not sure what that's all about, but this is most likely a test acetate before they made an acetate for the master. More than likely this set up with the LHCB acetate that I have was rejected in favor of separate bands for the tracks. For example, Good Morning Good Morning/Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band (Reprise)/A Day In The Life is one continuous track, whereas on the official release it's three separate tracks but as one continuous melody. All in all, side two on this acetate LP has 4 tracks total and the official release has 6 tracks total on side two. Side one on the acetate is the same as the official release. The ending also differs from the official release. Whereas the official release has the mumbo jumbo voice noise The Beatles inserted on the run off groove after the record ends on side two, this acetates lacks it.

Quote from Bruce Spizer on The World Beatles Forum, leading authority on Beatles records:
"While the Butcher cover is not the rarest of Beatles records, it is the most sought after. Every collector wants a Butcher cover in his or her collection. Those with limited budgets start with a mono third state peel, while those who can afford it go after stereo first states and Livingston Butchers. Capitol acetate albums are certainly much rarer, but they don't attract the multitude of collectors as the Butchers. That's probably a good thing as most acetates are limited to five or less copies!"

This Beatles Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band acetate LP is in NEAR MINT condition! BEAUTIFUL all around.
Both sides have some bleed through on the labels, but not much.

From Beatles Acetates expert Chazz Avery of BeatlesSource.com:
"Sorry, I have no history for these specific discs. The "Pepper" disc is surely the standard Capitol stereo mix. Since "Ticket..." has the 33 1/3 crossed out, I would assume it's the standard mono single mix. "Audiodisc" is a manufacturer who's discs were used for U.S. acetates. This is the first one I've seen used by Capitol but that's probably only because it never had a Capitol label applied over it."

THIS IS AN INCREDIBLY, EXTREMELY SUPER RARE BEATLES ACETATE LP! PROBABLY ONE OF A KIND!
MY USUAL SOURCES DON'T SEEM TO KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT IT!

Like I wrote above, it is the standard Capitol stereo mix except for the number of tracks on side two (four instead of six) and the insert on the run off groove is missing. Which makes me assume this is a Capitol test acetate.

I also have an extremely rare Capitol 45 RPM 8 inch Beatles 'Ticket To Ride' one sided mono acetate listed.
