Description
DO NOT UNDERESTIMATE THE GRAMOPHONE 2 BOXER...LITERALLY AMAZING.
BANG FOR BUCK..superb.
SOMETHING YOU DON'T SEE OFTEN - A PRACTICALLY NEW 50 YEAR OLD RECORD...And it's Pepper...
An original 1972 heavy-set 'Gramophone' original. The vinyl comes housed in an original gatefold cover. We have the original inner too and CUT-OUTS. So 100% complete and 100% genuine. HOLY COW --- this copy is just incredible. Look at the label shot! And look into the spindle hole...there's surplus wax...never seen that on Pepper before...Someone just archived it - or didn't like Pepper.[!]
Vinyl (Ex+) In great condition and has only seen lightest use. Under close inspection I could only make out a couple of slightest marks per side - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an EXCELLENT+ level of playback -- WITHOUT RESERVATION. A really decent player and plays perfectly clean throughout. DO NOT UNDERESTIMATE AN EARLY TWO BOXER....the audio is absolutely superb.... Basically a top level rendition which you'd have a very hard time even equalling. A copy like this can really deal with what, at times, is some pretty highly dynamic sounds. Lovely original player - bang for buck it is scoring very very highly...Clean as anything in those slow build moments... THIS IS PROBABLY THE BEST PRESERVED VINTAGE RECORD I HAVE EVER SEEN. All I could detect throughout the whole LP - one solitary tick in the final 10 seconds of the descending chord fade at the end of the LP. That was it..... Quite an accolade! I had to listen to every minute.....why? Because how often are you going to witness an EMI copy this good,,,practically NEVER! WYWY and WI64 and SLH ---- ALL PLAY perfectly [absolutely]....I would say there is almost zero chance of that happening in reality...an unusual copy by any measure. ADITL --- Listening to this track I realised I'd never quite heard it perfectly before...there is lots and lots of low-level detail and some incredibly demanding high-dynamic parts....all carried off to perfection. UNBELIEVABLE.
Cover (Ex+) A very smart looking cover - many are going to be looking a bit beleaguered after 50 years use. But this one seems to have avoided the ageing process - entirely. Very Very clean and flat with hardly a crease. NONONO edge wear and sharp firm openings. The spine is 99% intact. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity. Absolutely perfect in everyway [!].
Inner (Vg+) light ageing.
Cut-Outs (Ex) perfect.
