THE BEATLES - 'SOMETHING NEW'
1965 UK 1st **EXPORT** PRESSING LP
**WITH 'SOLD IN UK..' LABEL TEXT**
The first Beatles export LP and rarest mispressing, this 1st pressing UK export copy mistakenly carries the 'Sold in UK..' text on both labels.
This was quickly removed and all subsequent pressings omitted the statement.
This copy carries '1/G, 1/G' stampers making it among the first 3-500 pressed and unusually bears the 'KT' code in the centre of the side 2 label.
N.B. The pressing uses the U.S. 'Dave Dexter, Jr.' mixes.
This extremely rare 1965 first export pressing is on the UK black & yellow Parlophone label: CPCS 101
Both labels carry the 'Sold in UK..' text and 'Parlophone Co Ltd...' rims.
Unusually the 'KT' tax/price code is visible on the centre of the side 2 label.
Housed in a front laminated, 'tri-flipback', Garrod & Lofthouse cover bearing the July 1965 print code ('6507') on the lower 'flipback'.
Complete with its original lined 'Use Emitex' inner-sleeve.
Matrix numbers: YEEX 7-B12 & YEEX 8-B12
Stamper numbers: 1/G & 1/G

A feint written name is just visible on the side 2 label to the right of the '£' logo.
Visual: VERY GOOD
Clean but slightly worn surfaces displaying many light sleeve removal hairlines and the occasional light scratch but no deep/feelable marks.
100% flat on the turntable without dishing or warping.
Audio: VERY GOOD
Although played many times the sound quality is still clear and bright sound with no crackle or groovewear distortion on any track.
It would be half a grade higher if not for a single jump on 'Things We Said Today'. However there are no other audible faults.
Cover: FAIR
The cover suffers from general handling and storage wear but has a respectable undamaged front panel bearing just light creasing and original price sticker.
There is a split to the lower right corner but the others and the opening edge display moderate wear only.
As you can see the rear panel bears a handwritten name and number (military base personnel?) and a large stain but no tears.
All seams are unsplit and the spine wording is clear, readable and undamaged.
