READ THIS! These records are NOT sold for perfect sound quality. They’re sold for their scarcity and VISUAL grading. They’ve been in storage for a decade, and they WILL play with surface noise that can be addressed with D4 or a VPI cleaning.  I can’t test-play at the minute. Please don’t bid if this is a problem for you.

Beatles’ Story 1964 MONO LP UNDOCUMENTED Consignment HYBRID 1-2-3-4 Sides, NM!

Collectors are aware of the infamously hard-to-find RCA consignment copies of The Beatles’ Story, which has Los Angeles labels, and which have configured the sides as 1-2-3-4, rather than the far more common 1/4, 2/3 sides.

**But by a very long shot, most collectors don’t know that RCA had also printed a far more limited run of the 1-2-3-4, using Decca plates, and pressed with Scranton labels.  This is only the second copy I’ve ever seen in my life, since beginning to collect in 1975.  It’s not mentioned in any of the great books.

And it’s in stunning condition by collectors’ standards.

Vinyl--- NM/NM.  NM/NM.  All four sides look dangerously close to being unplayed, with maybe 2 or 3 extremely light angel hairs among all four sides.  Shines 100% new gloss!

Plates--- T1-2222-T4/T2-2222-P3.  T3-2222-T4/T4-2222-T4.  Sides 1, 3 and 4 have A1 plates, Side 2 has an A2 plate.  Definitely a first-day issue.

**These machine-stamped numbers were Decca’s matrix numbering system.  But the concentric thick, deep groove being closer to the outer edge of the labels are RCA’s lathes.

Cover--- VG.  Front and back covers have light dirtwear, moderate yellowing.  Spine’s slick is cracked, but there are NO SPLIT SEAMS.

Gatefold--- VG.  Moderate dirtwear and yellowing.  Some foxing along the top.  NO CENTER SPLIT SEAMS.

Labels--- NM/NM.  NM/NM.  Gorgeous dark cobalt blue Capitol domes and perimeter text, as opposed to white domes and text.  These were 1963 labels, which were changed in 1964 to the white graphics.

NO SPINDLE MARKS.  100% original gloss.

Capitol Inner Sleeve--- VG+. Original blue company Capitol inner sleeves are present.  Sleeve one has splits on all seams a few inches long.  Sleeve two has none.

A generic inner sleeve will be provided, so as not to damage your original Capitol inner sleeve en route.

RIAA: N/A

I’m going to seriously regret selling this one, aren’t I?  Well, it’s time for another serious collector to own it anyway.

As these records have been in storage for many years, they will play back with crackling and tics, however; a good moisturizing and cleaning with either D4 Discwasher or a VPI machine always clears them up.  Thanks!)

Note:  All LP’s ship outside of their album covers in order not to damage the covers during shipment.

CAUTION!  There has been a startling increase in bidders canceling their bids.  A word to the wise, I have started blocking any and all bidders who retract their bids regardless of the reason.

Please don’t bid unless you’re willing to honor your amount, okay? Thanks!

(Please note:  Regarding play-testing, my Technics turntable has somehow seized.  The tone arm is stuck in the up position, and I can’t get it to fully return to its cradle.  Is there anyone out there, who can tell me if this is an easy fix?  Thanks!)
